Casey Anthony Trial Thread #3

Didn't realize that Baez got two FBi experts tossed as judge deemed the evidence they were to testify about irrelevant.

You mean with the proffer? If so, that was Mason. If not, which experts? I probably missed something! Power outage today. :sad2:

It looks to me like Cindy is telling Casey to show some tears. She points to both eyes and drags the glasses down. I wonder what they were testifying about that day.
It was during a sidebar during testimony by OCSO Ronald Murdock...LDB was going through evidence with him, and had just shown the picture taken at the Anthony house of the heart shaped stickers. :confused3

Juror #7 was on edge of seat listening to Cindy.

Interesting note: She has had memory loss issues with medication.

Question: Cindy's mess changes prior to the trial...so why was her memory not good in some parts of earlier testimony? Hmmm, a tangled web is being woven...

Auto edit is so funny..I typed "meds", but leaving "mess" in honor of Cindy's testimony which was a damaging mess to the state's case.

It doesn't really matter because the jury has no idea what the attorney said.

I agree with this. And I'm thinking it went something like this. . .(since we like dialogues)

Anthony's attorney (AA): It doesn't look good for Casey.

Anthony's (maybe just CA): What can we do? We don't want her to get the death penalty.

AA: So do you think she did it?

Anthony's: We don't know, but if she did, we don't want her to be found guilty of 1st degree, aggravated murder.

AA: Well, we can talk to the defense and see what can be done. You can change your story and we'll figure out how that can happen . . .legally.

Anthony's: Ok, sign me up! (I'll do whatever it takes. . .including perjuring myself)

That last part is my opinion!

That leads to the premature statement of Anthony's thinking she might be guilty. . .or found guilty. And it leads to the obvious powwow with Baez et al. . .and the result we saw today when Cindy was on the stand. It was really hard to watch! It was soooooo orchestrated and coached. Baez was all over the place. . .just making the points that Cindy was amazingly able to "recollect" now. And she showed signs of stress during the cross examination. . .and big relief when it was over. I have lost all respect for her. . .and any shred of empathy or compassion I had felt for her previously. The "right" thing to have done was to not contradict your previous testimony and instead have pleaded for your daughter's life during sentencing if, in fact, the jury finds her guilty. I think her plea would have carried some weight, seeing as most people felt horrible for her up to this point. Now I actually hope she does time for perjury. . . And I'm really looking forward to the State's rebuttal now. . . I hope they shred her!

If you do "how to make" on Yahoo, the first hit is how to make chloroform.

After today, I believe that. But I would bet my last dollar that that wasn't the case in March 2008. The ranking in internet searches changes constantly depending on whats trending. I'm pretty sure if I searched Javier back in 2008 I wouldn't get the guy from The Voice. . . but I most likely would now. KWIM?

Watching Dr.Drew's show for the first time...he is kinda lame.

Yes he is. I thought he was going to cry when Beth Holloway first came on.

I did find what she had to say interesting though about parents of missing children going to the ends of the earth to help find their children. And here Casey was out going to bars and such. This reminded me that no matter what Cindy said on the stand today, Casey is still a lier and she still didn't report her missing for all of that time. No normal parent would do that unless they were covering something up or trying to hide something. I hope that the jury sees all of this.

The more that I think about it..

I don't think this is an "If it don't fit, you must acquit!" moment.

Who cares if Cindy searched chloroform or chorophyll or individual ingredients of Purell?

Is Cindy going to claim SHE made it and used it? Of course not!

State is going with duct tape as MOD anyway...

And we don't believe her anyway--heck, she practically admitted that she and her co-workers committed time card fraud on a regular basis! (not sure of exactly what she said--but COME ON!!!)

This isn't an ill-fitting glove moment! Not even close. She is a witness capable of stretching things--one of the hazards of her being able to sit in the courtroom! She hard all of the state's testimony. She is a very biased witness.

In the end, it will mean little. It seems the state may have made a mistake--we don't know as it is one expert against another..who determines which is correct? (what was the state's cross on the OCPD computer expert)

Probably why the public is being told to "simmer down". Powerful testimony, but problematic.

And the Anthony's attorney needs to shut his mouth. He should not be aiding his clients in protecting their daughter.

I agree. While I've had sympathy for her up to this point, it's completely gone now. She owed that child more than this. I think she has enabled Casey all of her life, run interference for her, and turned her into a spoiled brat who grew into the disgusting creature she became. I don't blame Cindy for what Casey did, but I do think she's protected her from consequences and is trying to do the same thing now. It's shameful.

I feel the same way. I would never lie. And if my child killed someone on purpose, I would not cover it up. They have to face what they have done. I don't mean this to be rude to those who feel otherwise, but I have a feeling our kids know we wouldn't cover for them at all costs, and have known this from day one. There is right and there is wrong. It is very black and white for me. I would still love my child, but I am not committing perjury for anyone, even my dh.

I feel the same way. While it would be hurtful, I can't even imagine what it would be like having my child get off and living beyond that because I lied for them. I don't think I could live with the guilt.

Watchin Dr Drew. They just replayed CAs chlorophyll chloroform BS. I am incensed again! I don't think this is necessary to keep KC from getting rhe DP.

I wonder how Cindy and George would feel if their testimony set Casey free and she did have another child? Would they honestly be comfortable letting Casey walk out the front door with their new grandchild?

And after all of this I doubt very seriously that ICA would be living at their house again. This time, they would have absolutely no control over the situation. The child would be the recipient of a nutcase mother, and the grandparents would have to wonder what she was doing to the baby and getting away with now. The innocent child would be the one to suffer - yet again.

HERE

I was reading through the logs again and I think the proof of the lie is there. On the stand today she said he and ICA were both on computer on the 17th....they took turns.

On page 21 phone logs indicate that btwn 10:59 and 22:23 (10:23 PM) Cindy placed 14 calls to ICA. Four calls btwn 2 and 2:30 when the google searches were done ( I am pretty sure) and one lasted 8 minutes.

 The computer searches were in March 2008, these logs are from June.

it incensed me as well. Why was her memory foggy A couple of weeks ago?

Did Scott Peterson's parents testify? Any bombshells like that?

I can understand wanting to have your kid's back, I really do. but good grief even Jeffrey Dahmer's dad, who was even sitting with him years ago during a tv interview, wasn't in court saying, oh those bodies parts were really mine.

i didn't like Cindy before, then when she first testified, I was crying right along during the 911 tapes. now, not liking her again. but i would like to know some of the medicine that has been helping her remember, because i lost a ring i'd like to find:rotfl2:

it's amazing that she and George have been allowed to stay to hear all this stuff in the court room and now she realizes the it doesnt look good for sociopath girl and a "normal" mom doens't want to see their kid die, but if she got the DP< she would be on death row for years with appeals unless someone took her out before she got there.

i wonder what George has to say about it behind closed doors? I know Cindy wears the pants, but i also agree with other posters that she enabled the monster that is ICA.
