Casey Anthony TRIAL thread #2

Well, according to Baez, I think they are in cahoots. God forbid they are just colleagues who have a mutual admiration for each other and have then, developed a relationship. One that could have been based on respect for what each does? Maybe? Could be? Nah, not in Baez world... everyone is just out to get Casey:rolleyes1

This is the first time I have watched an entire trial. I have seen bits and pieces of other trials and I have been a juror numerous times but the cases were always minor issues.

Is Baez's behavior typical? Do most defense attorneys try to claim that the witnesses are in this for the money or that professionals with decades of experience are not qualified? And do most defense attorneys have a belief that professionals like medical examiners and law enforcement are really staging all the evidence against their client as the case unfolds?

Anyone else's WESH videos dark?? Or is it just my laptop? (I could check my desktop, I suppose, but that would mean getting up.)
I wish I was back. We moved to VA last year and summer began and my husband is already complaining about the heat up here--"I thought I moved away from this" :rotfl:. The grass is always greener...er....browner...on the other side.:lmao:

I contend that if it is going to be hotter than Hades anyway in the summer...I would rather be in Florida!!!! (He is a bit tired of me asking when we are moving back.:rolleyes1)
When we have a trip planned for the summer, and it starts to get hot up here in RI, I start to dread the trip. But I can deal with heat in WDW better than heat in RI...it's funner!
Garbage is something that has food or other items that can rot in it. Trash is for paper, etc.
That sounds vaguely familiar. I guess IRL, it doesn't matter, but in a trial, it does. :confused3

It is quite amazing the number of people the prosecutors got together to testify against an innocent Casey.

OK...the MONEY issue again.

...and here we go again: another one in it for the money! But, if you are waiting on Bozo to pay you, you are going to be waiting a while, I'm afraid!! :happytv:

Um wow on this guy answering the questions about the money. That is some serious cash for one case. I guess that is pretty normal, though?

Yeah that was hilarious how he brought up how Baez hadn't paid him yet! LOL Embarrassing Baez!

This is going to come back to bite Baez in the butt when he goes and writes a book and goes on the interview circuit.

What was the amount and WHY is it relevant?

Do we get to ask Casey when she is on the stand how much money SHE made off of the case. ($200,000 for just a picture...NOT being an expert at anything. Reference her IRS case file.;))

I think its normal to try and discredit the witness and asking about financial gain is acceptable. Its there job to discredit evidence as well. The problem I see with this trial is that there are SO many witnesses and evidence that the constant attack, albeit acceptable, gets old and overused. Makes the jury kind of say, what? again? Is there anyone that isn't genuine?

My cousin's husband (lawyer) was opining that Baez makes some good points but he doesn't know when to stop or cross examine. His inexperience shows more than his ineptitude(even though that shows plenty as well). Make a point and move on, kind of.

No they did not object. I wonder what the jury thinks. I think he really insulted this man

That Baez is a butt who is up the creek without a paddle and has to resort to unprofessional behavior while he can't keep his crap together to insult a witness when he is unable to succeed at discrediting him.

At least that is what I am thinking.:surfweb:

The whole "intelligently" thing was again, Baez inexperience. His question was valid, just not how he said it.

He was stating that the witness couldn't really comment on a report because he wasn't familiar with it. But, instead of saying that, he used the word intelligently.....

If he's a state witness, the state pays him, right? And what about the defense experts? Who pays them? I'm guessing since Casey is indigent, the state does too. Is Baez going to claim that the defense experts are paid less? And honestly, who would get paid less...someone less experienced, and Baez would harp on that? Or a millionaire expert witness who works for free? Bill Gates, where are you?

So he is a prosecution witness who was also hired by Baez and Baez has bills outstanding....

He might not have mentioned that if Baez hadn't insulted him.:lmao::rotfl:

Love when the witnesses smack down on Baez.:woohoo:

Casey gave the money to Baez to pay him,now she is indigent and the state is now paying.

Part of the indigence is so that the defense will be able to hire and pay for their own witnesses. Defense is not a charity, so if they cannot pay an expert--they don't get to use them.

It looks like Baez hired this guy as well, but hasn't paid the bill. And now it is on court record.

What was the dollar amount stated???

I guess Baez needs to see if everyone else is getting paid more so he can object to it.
