another side bar. boy these people are spending a lot of time chatting it up beside the bench

I was pregnant in summer months yrs ago now but boy I could not wait for them to come out.

i know - dd was born at the start of OCT so i was pg throughout that summer too. all i can say is THANK GOD for pools and AC lol

I'm watching the trial on local WESH. They have the camera on Casey almost non-stop. In fact, there was one point where Tony was talking about Caylee and how she knew how to count in Spanish. Casey was smiling. The local news media is making a big deal out of this.

As to the alternates, the local news is saying that the alternates do not know that they are alternates. Everyone must assume they are regular jurors. For that reason, the request for the alternates to go home will not happen. That could lead to a tainted juror pool.

Also, they will get to see the Tampa game, but it will be recorded so that any commercials that could possibly refer to the case will be removed.

The jurors also asked if they could start writing diaries of the proceedings. The judge told them no. In fact, he told them that he would rather they not take notes at this time. He wants them to pay attention. Any notes they do take cannot be taken from the courtroom.

At least you had the pool. I had a bathtub

you guys are funny....my eldest a halloween baby - and now I am pg again due early Sept...fun Florida summer! Luckily we have a pool....and I like the heat anyway!:thumbsup2

Did anyone notice how Morales said she had issues getting Caylee to sleep? Isn't that what was speculated that she used chloroform for?

My daughter was born on sept 4th and 13 months later my son was born on oct 27th. I always felt like passing out.

how do these people remember what happened on specific dates?

i have a hard enough time remember what i did or said last week never mind 3 4 years ago.

i knowyou can look some stuff up on face book but boy thats a long time to remember when you saw someone at what party unless you're sitting with a calendar infront of you
I have an amazing ability to remember things if there's a "marker" date. Like, I will remember other events of this week because of the trial, my birthday, DD's wedding, DS's graduation coming up, etc. Like I'll remember that my best friend was on vacation in Nova Scotia last week because that's why she wasn't around to help me. :headache: I think some of their memories are because of the Hot Body Contest and when that was, and the people who took that trip to Puerto Rico remember those days. I think it's like putting together a puzzle...the association with other events and work, school, etc.

Just don't ask me what I had for breakfast today. :confused3

I had one DD the end of August and the other the beginning of October. Very uncomfortable. Stay comfy and congratulations!

Are you saying the alternates will not be able to go home until a verdict is reached? And that an alternate will be able to replace a juror if necessary during deliberations?

I didn't catch anything about the judge telling them he preferred jurors not take notes in the courtroom, and to just listen. That doesn't seem appropriate to try to dictate to jurors not to take notes, if taking notes is specifically allowed in this case. I know that their notes must be left in the courtroom and are sealed at night.
It's interesting how many of these witnesses moved away from here.
Were most of them down there for college? Or just for a good time while they're young? DH dropped out of college, drove cross country with a friends with big plans to live out in California and be beach bums...then ran out of money, moved back here (RI), and went back to college.

I can't believe how addicted I am to watching this trial. I got sucked into the opening arguments and can't wait until 9am every day. I must say, its been fun watching along with everyone's comments. But the kids gets out of school in 2 weeks so they need to rush this along!

I am thinking this all comes down to the chloroform as well. I think she started using while dating Morales so she could have "alone" time. Morales thought it was a big joke and even put pics of chloroform on his Myspace. She may not have intended to kill Caylee, but I think she was drugging her while she was spending time with Tony instead of leaving her with mom and dad out of spite.

I think Casey used to drug that child to go out all night, who knows, maybe even put her in the trunk:confused3 ...otherwise where was this child all these times she stayed with/slept around, clubbed all the time? If the defense does not answer where this child was, who watched over her, who took care of her, they are sunk....there is so much stacked against this defendant, I cannot fathom how they will get over it. I think it "may" have been an accidental overdose, who knows....so very sad.

As far as reasonable doubt, you cannot even have a Doubt, this will be a much faster trial than anticipated if it goes on like this. The judge asks if there is an objection...then Baez says yes, and sights the Wrong objection, time after time....is this a tactic for Garbage representation to get it overturned down the line????????..OMgosh, what a nightmare.....but the state is plowing thru...Keep up the good work and draw it all out....witness after witness...

I will send a note to the judge for you. No guarantees though.:rotfl:

These folks have been questioned about these events since it happened. They have been answering these questions since 2008. Its not that they remember, its that they haven't forgotten.

If tomorrow you are asked what you did today May 26, you will remember. if they ask you again, every other day, you will remember. If a year from now, they are still asking you once a month, you will remember. Thats basically why.

Also, remember they have gone over their testimony and the questions they would be asked beforehand.

I think you're on target. She may have even gotten the idea of "chloroform" from Ricardo, and started using it. Maybe after having used Xanax (Zani the nanny) prior to this. But what happened that day? Maybe Caylee was so out of it and wasn't responding and Casey finished her off. (Ugh...that sounds awful.)

*I* feel embarrassed for him when Baez questions witnesses.
