I seriously doubt she will be walking around Orlando. Her lawyers will probably arrange to have her taken to an undisclosed location for her own safety, and the safety of the public. Baez stated he fears for her safety. It's not like you will run into her at the 7-11.

Of course not....not the 7/11 but if you indulge in the night life well that is another story.

Casey Anthony juror Jennifer Ford believes that prosecutors could have won a guilty verdict if they had brought a lesser charge than first degree murder, which carried the possibility of the death penalty, for the death of 2-year-old Caylee Anthony.

"If they charged her with other things, we probably could have gotten a guilty verdict, absolutely," Ford said today on "Good Morning America." "But not for death, not for first-degree murder. That's a very substantial charge."

I'm really confused. Did they even read the other two options they had that weren't for the DP? I'm assuming they did since they had to mark it as not guilty.

At one point their vote was 6 - 6 for the lesser charge of manslaughter. I know people are up in arms because some of us are calling the jurors stupid but this is truly stupid. There were lesser charges. Why is she making these comments? Until someone can prove to me that she isn't stupid, I'll stick by my statement.

I agree--insulting them is uncalled for.

I don't find calling someone incompetent an insult in this context I'd it is shown that they may have been incompetent.

I had an employee once who was quite incompetent. In my venting, I do insult her because my bosses ignored my very rational arguments regarding her incompetence. But, my bosses and human resources finally realized there was merit to my observations when she tried to blame me for a company rule that she broke. I was quite professional in speaking of her incompetence---but she was indeed incompetent.


Calling them stupid and dumb and village idiots is insulting. But I can also see that people are simply frustrated as there is no recourse.


A long time ago, the legal process was much more simple. Over 200+ years it has grown complicated and we would be fools to not understand where things went wrong.

The number of people that call the state incompetent for their case boggles my mind.

Why can't we look at the jury who is admitting that they needed more proof. I am incensed as we speak because I hear people blaming the state for not proving things that were absent and not legally required. And refusing to conceit because of sentencing concerns. (it seems they were unanimous that they couldn't sentence her to die if I am inferring correctly--so what was the issue?)

If we have juries who require more than the law--then they are no different than those who find truly innocent people guilty.

I is something that needs revisiting.

A long time ago not only innocent people killed for crimes they didn't do and we also hung 7 year olds for theft. Do we really want to go back to that?

Also, I was thinking about this scenerio and don't know if it had ever came up in discussion. Just say IF she didn't do it (I totally believe she is guilty), but let's just humor ourselves and say IF she didn't, could someone have set her up? Surely with all the partying, the sexing, drinking, etc., I'm sure she probably made a few enemies. I imagine she probably went after some boyfriends that weren't "hers".

The Dis is for fun. You're not going to solve any pressing issues in the world by hanging out on the Community Board.
Taking this board seriously, losing sleep over this board, getting angry over this board, losing online friends over this board... none of that will solve this case or bring Caylee back.
All I've seen accomplished here is the insulting of a jury, a state, and a justice system.

One of the things that bother me about Casey is she will not feel guilty about killing her child. She has lied so much, and lying is second nature to her, she believes her own lies. She feels she is the victim. This will not bother her. She will get out, live her life and not think twice about her little girl. She'll disappear and be as happy as she was for those 31 days after she killed her daughter.

This verdict has gotten me so upset and I don't even know these people!

I wasn't directed this at YOU personally. It is directed to those in general that I see bad mouthing the jury members. They did their job as they believed it should be done. Whether you or anyone else likes the result, they did what they were asked to do.

I find it really sad that people are now slamming the jury. But then, we all had information they did not have. We had years to develop our opinions. They did not. If they had, they would not have been on the jury. Most of us developed our opinions by discussing it for months with others. The jurors were not allowed to talk about it until deliberation began. Very easy to cast stones from the outside.

You can believe anything you want. I am also entitled to my opinion. It seems every time I express an opinion different than yours, you jump on me and accuse me of telling your what to think. Last time, you said it was my method. All I did then was express an opinion different than yours. You seem to take it as a personal attack. I don't remember ever directing anything to you. Believe me, I won't. Maybe you are taking it personally because my opinion differs from yours. I left the prior threads because I didn't want to upset people, but I really don't think I should have to leave because my opinion isn't the one of popular choice.

Sorry I dont know how to bold things. If I am correct there were some jurors who did say she was guilty in there minds and said they could set that aside. I am not lashing anyone just remembering there were a few

Oh I'm not afraid of running into her. I don't hang out at night clubs, strip clubs, Blockbuster, Tony's apartment, Jose Baez's office, or anywhere else a baby killer may potentially go. I'm just sick that she will be walking.

Exactly! they had 2 lesser charges that they also found 'not guilty' so she (juror 3) just go home and stop her TV tour. They screwed up and should own it, not making excuses, they sound just like Casey, making excuses for her actions!

I heard that one juror won't talk unless there is 5 fig amount! Go figure!

Live hearing going on now, media wants Perry to release the names of the jurors. He said that he gave the jurors media packets if they want to talk, but maybe they could offer a trip to WDW in order to loosen a few tounges.

I guess he wasn't pleased with that one lady, eh?

I think a lot of us wonder what evidence they needed to convict her.

Most of us know there wasn't a smoking gun but there were a lot of pieces that if you put together, fit quite well.

Its not about 80% or 90%. Its about no other reasonable explanation. And NO other explanation given by the defense is reasonable to me. If I follow the legal jury instructions, there is no REASONABLE doubt. Drowning? no evidence.. Abuse? No evidence.. George involved? Evidence to the contrary and on and on....

I am really upset by the Disney connection here. Remember while it is all "Disney," ABC/ABC News is a separate entity than Walt Disney World Theme Parks and Resorts, Disney Cruise Line, Lake Buena Vista Entertainment, etc. If you want to write a letter, I would start with ABC News: 7 West 66th Street, New York, NY 10023
