Casey Ordered To Return To Orlando To Serve Probation

Casey Anthony has been ordered by Judge Belvin Perry on Friday to come back to Orlando to serve one year of probation in her check fraud conviction. Casey must report no later than August 26, according to the judge's order.

Casey has disappeared from the public eye since a jury found her not guilty in the death of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, and she was released from the Orange County jail. Her lawyers have not disclosed her location expect to say she was out of state.
Another judge sentenced her in January 2010 to probation after she pleaded guilty to using checks stolen from a friend. Judge Stan Strickland said during the sentencing hearing that Casey should serve the probation upon her release from prison or jail. But those instructions never made it into a written order and corrections officials interpreted the sentence to mean Casey could serve the probation while she was in jail awaiting trial. Strickland issued an amended order earlier this week, clarifying that Casey needs to start serving probation now that she is out of jail.
Strickland recused himself from the case, which is why Judge Perry was handling it.

Does double jeopardy apply when if the State of FLA can find a way to bring federal charges against her?

She was tried at the state level...can the feds go after her?

Yes they can. It has happened before in other cases. Personally, I don't think it's right but in this case, I would make an exception.

I forgot to mention, the person who put up that funny video of ca trial on youtube closed their account and the video is gone. If anyone has a way to access it I would love to show it to my husband. He got as caught up in the trial as I did.

Perfectly well that if the judge had said 1 year bit the written report he would have jumped up and down until it was fixed but because it was an error against kc I'll bet he was hoping it would go unnoticed

I just glanced over the Judge's order. Now, I have a question. It says in the order that there are more than one count and that the probabtion is for on each count to run concurrent. Does that mean more than one year probation?

They Child welfare dept said they would not go after her. I cant understand why. If there is still a way to serve justice for the issue they should. What order was this? I wonder if Baez will be in trouble. I think Perry may feel some relief that she will be held accountable for something with out a jury being involved. Hmm..I wonder how the jury is feeling these days? Now that they are hearing things? I feel some relief that she has to serve probation.

No, concurrent means served at the same time. So if its 4 counts, with 1 year each.. She serves all 4 at once during the 1 year.

Consecutive would mean that its one after another.
