For some reason, I am fascinated with this case. Not with the actual tragic events, but with Casey Anthony's ability to lie so glibly, so constantly, and apparently very successfully.
This is the young single mother who didn't report her two-year-old daughter (Caylee) "missing" even though she hadn't seen her for a month. Then she told a story about her nanny kidnapping Caylee. Eventually, Caylee's body was found just a short distance from the home where Casey lived with her parents.
What amazes me is that Casey did not have a job for two years, yet apparently her parents and friends all believed she worked at Universal Studios as an event planner. She stole money from family and friends and always seemed to be able to invent another lie to cover things up. Her stories were very detailed and complex and yet - they were all lies.
She won't come to trial until May of 2011 (assuming she doesn't get a plea bargain) but I find I keep following the hearings and continue to be absorbed by this case. I am also fascinated by her complete lack of remorse and emotion about her daughter's death. When she was first arrested - before the baby's body was found - she called home from the jail, and all she wanted was her boyfriend's phone number. No interest in discussing the missing toddler or trying to help with the search - she just wanted to talk to her boyfriend.
Just wondered if anyone else is following this - or is interested in these cases where people lie so effectively. It always makes me wonder if there are people in my life who are lying to me and I just don't know it!!

Knew plenty of liars, cons and cheaters. Still can spot them from 50 paces. I don't know, maybe it is an intuition or an ability to read body language? I do know some of the basic body language things that you can tell if someone is lying.
