We finally made our decision to stay at the Hojo's this week (actually, we had to flip a coin cause we couldn't decide ourselves) - we leave Wed! We are MAJOR water drinkers, especially with me being pregnant, and would like to get a case of bottled water for our room. From what I've read, the Hojo convenience store only sells individual bottles, and we won't have a car. Is there somewhere within walking distance where we can buy a case, or will we have to stop on our way there from the airport?

I haven't even looked into transportation from the airport yet, so I don't know if a taxi is the best idea or what...

Thanks a bunch!

Can't help you with the water but I'm totally jealous you'll be there so soon :woohoo:

There is no where within walking distance to get a case of water. My suggestion to you would be to look into vons.com grocery delivery (often free for the first order with a minimum $50 order) or you will need to stop on the way from the airport.

I agree with the vons delivery. We went to albertson's on the way to the hotel (I was thinking we wouldn't spent $50) and sure enough by the time I got water, soda, snacks, milk, yogurt, fruit, etc. it was way above the $50. Have fun!!

We had delivery from Vons to HOJO....very easy to spend $50. I would order 2 cases of water. We were there for 7 nights (4 of us + baby) and went thru two cases by 5 days!

Also try costco if you are a member they will deliver cases of water. Have fun, I arrive at DL on Thursday!!!!!!

I'm assuming Costco has a minimum order too, right? Is it $50? We are members.

So, if we do the grocery delivery, next question is: what exactly can we fit in that little fridge? I thought I read somewhere that a 1/2 gallon of milk will not fit...how many quarts can we get in there? Any room for juice? Should I make this a separate thread?

Thanks!

costco does not have a minimum order for residential delivery.

The fridge, a gallon will fit if you lay it on its side, and/or take out the shelf. juice should fit in the door. You can actually fit quite a bit in those little fridges as long as you lay things on sides, stack things, etc

We have fit 2 half gallons of milk, uncrustables and a lot of water bottles easily in them.

Have you given any thought to using refillable water bottles? There are lots of places in the parks to fill them with filtered water (including the first aid and baby changing stations) and you can be green at the same time :thumbsup2:goodvibes

Well I'll be darned. I made up a tentative order on vons.com of snacks, drinks, and cereal and milk, and sure enough it came to over 50 bucks! So we will be having the groceries delivered. It will be SO nice to not have to worry about picking that stuff up when we get there!

JustAKid: Oh yes, we are planning on refilling our water bottles numerous times at the park (I already read the posts on that!), but we still need a lot for in our room.

Thank goodness I found this message board - you guys are full of helpful tips!

You definitely will want bottles for the room, the water in Anaheim is nasty. We do refill our bottles from the fountains in the First Aid station but those start to taste funny after a while too. You will love the HoJo, and the fridge will be the perfect size for "just a few things" for your trip. Have fun!!

I have the same question, as we're a family of 4 and big water drinkers also. Problem I have is I'm from the UK and I'm guessing they would want a US home address? We're staying at the HOJO also, but not until July next year - can't wait!

Has anyone tried to take uncrustables into DL?

My DS 18 months is the most annoying eater, he is a few hours off from everyone else. I'd like to take pretty substantial snacks into the park with us for him otherwise I'm going to be stuck with a crabby hungry baby.
