OK, so I called DINE tonight (just off the phone with them) to make a few ressies and check on a few things. The IVR has been updated to remove the 'stay tuned to the DP blog and DL Twitter for more 411 on Carthay Circle'. Hmmm...mentioned this to the CM, and she suggested that I should check back tomorrow. :)

Yes they have earlier said check in next week, in a few days and in a couple days. It sounds like the expected it to be in the system tomorrow.

Thanks for the update ! I definitely am hoping I can make something for Sunday June 17th!

I just called, and they do not have any more information about Carthay yet. But she said to keep calling, that it should be soon!

I'm excited! I'm waiting for a CM right now :)

EDIT: Ressies for 11 AM Opening day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got a dinner reservation at Carthay Circle at 8pm on June 15th - yay! I used email FYI and it was super fast.

I also just got a reservation for Monday June 18th 6:30pm for when we will be there. A few details from the CM I spoke with:

She said they are not calling it "Fine Dining" as they want all guests to feel comfortable there, if they were wearing flip flops and shorts or nice attire. The theme of the restaurant being set in the 1920's (which many already know.)

The food they said was going to be a wide variety from Jamaican to Mexican to you name it...she said they were trying to have "something for everyone."

Pricing on things...
Appetizers $9-$20
Entries $19-$41
Desserts $8-$12

WOC info
Gets you center stage access, (I would guess that is the preferred dining area)
In order to get the WOC ticket she said you have to get an appetizer and entree or and entree and dessert, it is not your Prix Fix meal like Ariel's was. Other than that...super excited to be going.

Just booked for 6/15 at 220p for lunch. CM said there's still PLENTY of availability for both lunch and dinner that day. Hmmmm

Reservations JUST came out about an hour and a half ago, plus people are still at work/school/etc. I'm sure it'll get booked up tonight. Or maybe we're just crazy disney fans :)

I don't think they had Jamaican or Mexican here much in the 20s.... ;)

Not everyone is awaiting an announcement on a web site on a mid-week in the middle of the day for a restaurant to start taking reservations.

Plus some people may not want to be there opening weekend, :crowded:but a little later. ;)

Just called and booked for 1:20pm lunch on 6/15 ! Also sent an email request for dinner on 6/18 for DH and me. Looking forward to it :)

Argh, I am frustrated.

I called to reserve a WOC dinner package at Carthay for June 21. The CM I spoke with said we would have to ask our server for the WOC preferred viewing pass after our dinner, and THERE WAS NO GUARANTEE THERE WOULD BE ANY LEFT. They might run out.

Of course, she also insisted that WCT lunch and dinner get you the exact same WOC pass, which isn't true, is it?

I reserved a lunch at Carthay, because she said that lunch gets the same pass as dinner, and I wanted to go early enough to make sure we got them. Does that sound right?

Should I just call back to get another CM?

EDIT - I did call back and feel better. The second CM did note the WOC on my reservation and explained about ordering 2 courses per person to receive the passes. I am excited to try it!

I know...I thought was a little bit funny when she said that, but the main thing she was trying to convey was that there would be a wide variety of things to choose from. She even mentioned various types of alcohol that would be available.

What, no menu to look at..I will wait to see whats cookin before I email vacation planning.

I am pretty sure Mexican food was abundant in Los Angeles in the 20's. Though it's likely that Jamaican food was scarcely available.
