Carthay Circle WOC question?

So I just made reservations for Carthay Circle during Labor Day weekend, and the castmember I spoke to told me I should be there an hour before the show starts.
True or False?
I thought I had been hearing that you didn't need to line up super early if you got Carthay fastpasses??
She also told me all I had to do to get the fp's was to have everyone in my party order an entree and an appetizer and/or dessert and then I would get them.
I thought what I was calling to reserve was a meal and the fastpasses or do they just give them out to whomever orders that?
I also forgot to ask what was required if 3 of the people are kids. Do they need to order an adult entree or what??

Anyone catching what I'm throwing??

Thanks for any help, my mind is starting to spin!! :scared:

Both. It appears that the new CCT area for WOC is evolving and we have had a hard time nailing down exactly how it works as it keeps changing. The WOC dining reservations have never been about allowing folks to show up late and still have a good view. They have always required arrival early - usually 90 minutes. With CCT they now apparently have a spot dedicated for CCT diners at WOC. In any case some folks have done OK on some nights showing up like 30 minutes early. Others seem to still need 60+ and maybe 90 minutes.

Bottom line - do NOT get the CCT dining package for WOC with the idea you will have a guaranteed good view and can show up late. With WOC 90 minutes early has been the rule for the last two years - at least for the first show. The second show - when there is one - could handle folks 60minutes early.

Until I hear or see otherwise I am going to arrive 90 minutes early.

I will be dining at CCT three weeks from today, actually, and my understanding is that everyone needs to order as you heard. An entree and an appetizer or dessert.

In fact, you do not even need to reserve WOC. You can just eat there, order the right combinations for each person, and get FPs.

Not sure about kids and adult entrees but that would surprise me.

ugh its soooo frustrating

so if you eat at CC for lunch can you request the FP for the 2nd show?

I have a question related to this. I have a 7pm dinner reservation at Carthay Saturday night. I know that each person in my party orders and entree and app/desert we get a WOC FP for the 10:15 show (I understand the cutoff is 7pm as to which show you get).

However, if they add an 11:15 show (which I think they have been doing lately) can I get a WOC FP to that one instead? I'd much rather see WOC after park closing to maximize my day.

This would be great, and I would love to try this as well if possible. We have a lunch reservation at CC on the 21st, but I would be thrilled if they will allow me to pick second or even third show FPs instead of the first show. I look forward to hearing if anyone has been able to make this request.

ugh:mad: I called disney dining to ask and they said that they can only guarantee for a late show if you go to dinner...i still dont know about the 11 show but it seems to be just like getting FP's..the first ones are for early show, then when they are out the next show is given out and then Im assuming that if they were to run out of the second show they would offer the 11 one but idk...so basically if you go to lunch you will get early show..they did say however, that you can request the second show but if they dont have any FP's to give out for that show then you get what they have:confused3...so now the decision is...do we do lunch and gamble that they will offer us the 2nd show? Or do we play it safe and go to dinner:headache:

We ate at Carthay for lunch on 6/27. When I asked the server if we would get tickets for the earlier show, she said that's what they typically gave out at lunch, but that we could get tickets for the second show if we preferred. I don't know if this is official policy or not, but this is what we were offered.

Good to know. Thanks for sharing. :goodvibes

I see, so no matter what I should try to be there 60-90 min early regardless.
Good to know so I can plan that in.

I definitely will be looking out for what others have been experiencing regarding this.

If anyone out there wouldn't mind...how early did you start lining up for WOC with CCT fastpasses?

im gona be an hour early when we go because the first 30mins of tea party i have to be at lol

When we were at the restaurant, they told us we could arrive right before WOC started (5 or 10 minutes before), but the ticket we were given said to arrive at least 15 minutes before. We arrived 15 minutes before, and it was no problem, although there were not a lot of options of where to stand at that point.

Thanks. The idea about arricing up to 90 minutes before the show is to have lots of options of where to stand. Because such a huge percentage of the options are poor or mediocre or impossible, based on your height or your children's height.

I really would like to find out about the kids... we'll have 2 adults and a child in our party... and my daughter eats like a bird... multiple appetizers and desserts are already going to be tons of food... so hopefully the kid's meal counts... also wondering if those biscuits count as an appetizer?

So we were told that kids order off the kids meal, but still require a kids Appetizer or kids Dessert with the meal.

Also told that lunch gets the first showing, dinner gets the second showing, but not sure of the exact transition.

We are eating on July 23rd.

I emailed DLR Dining and requested the earliest dinner reservation for the 2nd WOC show. They booked both WCT and CCT @7:00 pm for me. 7:00 pm is likely the time to switch to the 2nd show for CCT.

If there is too much food for the kids and it's a must for them to order an appetizer or dessert, you may want to consider bringing a plastic container to save the leftover dessert for later, esp. when you have to line up early for the good viewing spot. Eating is a good way to kill time! ;)

Have fun planning! :goodvibes

My understanding is no. You get FPs for 1st show for lunch and then at some point they transition to second show.

ok finally! I have an update for this...now why I didnt think to look for it I will never know but I mentioned all this to a friend of mine and she directed me to the Disneyland website for Dining WOC.....in this link it clearly states....

Lunch

First and second show lunch packages:

11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., first show

2:40 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., second show

Dinner

First and second show dinner packages:

4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., first show

7:05 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., second show

so mystery has been solved...if you want a specific show, you need to book your times according to the above...

That is exactly what I was told when I called yesterday and asked about kids.

What I also found interesting is that I could not make a reservation for 6:00 pm. It had to be 5:40 or 6:20. I said "Wow, they are already booked?!?" (I was calling at 7:06 am PT 2 months out for the Wed after Labor Day for a party of 4, seemed unlikely they were booked already.) The CM said "No, they just don't do 6pm reservations". So not sure how they schedule, but that seems a bit odd to me.
