Carthay Circle Reservation

We have a reservation at Carthay Circle in Nov. If we need to cancel that reservation it says the policy is one day before. Does that mean 24 hours before the reservation or just the day before? (For example if you have a reservation on Tues afternoon, is it safe to cancel Mon evening?)

We've canceled the evening before for the next day's breakfast and were ok.

I was told it's 24 hours. The CM on the phone this week said there have been some changes to the reservation process, so I'd check with Disney to be sure.
