Carthay Circle Ice Balls

Which drinks at Carthay Circle have the specially made ice balls?

Also, do they make ice in other shapes?

They may have started using the diamond shape which C33 was using due to the 60th, but I won't know for sure until next month when I visit. The martinis and manhattans both came with the sphere last time I was there (well actually in 1901, but it's the same menu).

They do supposedly have the diamond ice now, but I haven't seen it for myself. I was told the diamond ice melts a lot faster which isn't as nice as the sphere in a martini, but it's pretty!

I can confirm the Diamonds did melt pretty quick in my martinis I had in C33 and Salon Noveau.

Both the sphere and diamond are made of specially made clear ice. An ice vendor provides clear "cubes" which are melted into spheres on-site (or even table side). The diamond ice is pre-made in that shape.

The diamond is now the default ice for drinks that previously featured the sphere.
I don't know if the sphere can be requested, never hurts to ask...

I had a written thing to go along with the pictures I posted above saying that it does look like the ice melts pretty fast with the diamond. I experienced technical difficulties, though, and the text got lost in the shuffle.

The spheres are not available right now. They do not have the ice needed to make them. The only option is the diamond.

Darn! I was going to ask for the drinks with the sphere tomorrow when we get to Carthay for our late lunch.
