We are a family of seven going to Disneyland June 10 - 15. Here's the thing... we only make it to DL about every 3 or so years. We usually try and go when things are less busy but this is really the only week that worked. So here's my question. I have 2 boys 4 and 6 that would love to get a chance to see Carsland but it's our last day in the parks and opening day. Does anyone have any advice for a plan of attack, or should we just forget about it? :sad2:

I wouldn't necessarily say dont do it, just be prepared for a very busy day. Possibly bring things for your boys to do in line while you wait... I'll qualify that with I don't have children and have never been to a park on opening day... :confused3Good luck and have a great family vacation!

I have read on other boards that people are planning on lining up the night before. I'm not sure I would even try DCA on the 15th, especially with two little ones.

Get a fastpass for RSR early in the morning. If the fp situation is anything like Star Tours last year, you will see long lines just to get a fp, and they will run out a couple of hours after opening. Remember RSR uses fastpass machines *outside* of Carsland, by It's Tough to Be A Bug

Also, DCA will be closed on June 14 which means everyone will be at DL, so plan accordingly.

Have fun, and some pixie dust for the boys with Carsland. :wizard:

There will be very long lines to enter DCA on June 15th because of all the overnight campers. Unless you are staying onsite and can use the GCH entrance, I am afraid that by the time you got into DCA the RSR FPs will be gone and the lines for everything else at CL will be 2+ hours long.

If you are staying offsite, I am not sure the current policy but in the past if you ate breakfast at a place like StoryTellers at GCH they would let you use the special entrance by showing a receipt. If you can do this I would be strongly tempted.

With all of that said, if you feel like you can dedicate the day to CL just do it and tell the kids it will be a big crowd and how lucky they are to be there on opening day. And just make a party out of it rather than treat it like it is dreadful. That might go a long way towards them having a good memory or a bad one.
