So we are renting a car for our trip and driving to parks, so I'm bringing out car seat. We are with a larger group and one day some of them are going off to Kennedy Space center but I"m not sure my littles would enjoy that, plus I ended up with a buy 4 days get 3 free, so I have an extra day more then the rest of the group, so I was considering just taking mine to MK that day.

My question though is that mine are 11 months and 4 yrs. So older kiddo could use a car seat in an Uber X, but I've heard they only have one car seat per car, so I'd probably have to bring one for my littlest. Is there anywhere I can store it while at MK? Lockers? I don't mind paying, I just wasn't sure if it would be sized large enough for an infant car seat.

Could the other group drop you off at a Disney World Resort early? Then you could just take disney transportation around for the day.

We are staying at a time share off property and it offers no shuttle.

Having them drop me off first is an option, but I was kind of hoping to maybe sleep in and do more of a half day at the park. Take it easy, just kind of relax and see what we see and not rush that day, since we have lots of other more packed days.

Use the Uber car seat for the younger one, and bring a base-only booster for the 4 y/o. I know there's even an NTSB approved inflatable booster, but I've never personally used one. A friend that fosters uses them often when they have last minute placements.

Not sure what size your 4 year old is, but the MiFold seat is amazing! We used on a recent trip and will use it again when we go to Disneyworld in September.

I'm not 100% positive, but I think Uber only provides a front facing seat, which won't work for her younger one.

If uber has a rearfacing seat, use a Bubble Bum booster for the 4 year old (if she can follow the guidelines for a backless booster...sitting up, not leaning, etc).

If she can't, or if uber can't provide the proper seat for the baby, seriously, rent another car for that day and use your own seats.

Thanks, now I just have to figure out what those dimensions look like when the kids give me a chance :) Very helpful!

True, I hadn't thought about that. 4 yr old is still in a harness, but for short travel I'd be okay with her using a booster. Like someone else pointed out I'm not sure if the uber is rear or front facing. I'll have to go check that again.... I mean, she'll be 1 in another week so I could fudge for one car ride...

I've been thinking about getting the MiFold, it does look great! I worry that shes a little on the small size, she does fit the requirements but at home I keep her in a five point. But I may have to get one for this trip...

also you are going to have to get carseat to lockers at MK from TTC I think. Uber/Taxi drop off at TTC not the gate like buses. you would need to get 2 kids, stroller and carseat to lockers inside gate at MK. not sure if there are lockers at the TTC. even if you use the Contemp drop off you would have to walk to MK with everything. not sure if youcould use bell services there to store carseat for the day

This is a really good idea. Take Uber with your seats to a WDW resort that you may be interested in having dinner or looking around. Check the car seats with bell services there, bus/monorail/whatever to the park, then come back. I cannot fathom bell services saying no, as long as you're prepared to tip them, especially if you plan a meal at the resort.

The bell hop thing is genius. I would go that route. No way I would have my four year old in a backless booster. Especially in a tourist trap like Disney - so many out of town guests that have no clue where they are going makes me more nervous driving there (I used to work down there and would do my grocery shopping after I got off my closing shifts just to avoid the tourists).
Good luck!

Another option would be to get a CARES harness for your 4 year old. We have one that we use for travel and it has been terrific. Fits in a small bag and very lightweight. Certainly easier than lugging a car seat anywhere and much more secure than a booster.

CARES only works on the plane, it is not for the car.

Something similar would be the Ride Safer Travel Vest though.

Are your plans such that you would be at disney the entire time they are going to kennedy? could they just drop you off and pick you up?

Florida law in this area is really confusing to me so you really want to verify this, but I think the 4 year old can just use a seat belt because the driver is not a family member. It's one of the exceptions and i think it's there mainly for the taxi or school bus situation. It's really hazy because in 2016 is when the booster seat change to the law happened and not sure if an adult/built in belt requires another device attached to it now or not for this.

Agree with taking the uber to a WDW Resort close to the park you want to visit and then asking bell services to store the carseats - for the cost of a tip your all set! Then use Disney transportation to and from the parks and uber back to your resort.

When we uber to MK, we have them drop us of at GF and then take the monorail one stop. You don't need to have an ADR or anything. The uber driver will simply tell the security guard you are there to visit and you will be waved through. Take the elevator to the second floor and you will find the monorail station.

I would look into a Ride Safer Travel Vest or an Immi Go for the 4yo. If the 11mo still fits in the Infant carrier, that might work the best. Otherwise the Scenera Next is small and lightweight.

I work in passenger safety, which makes me inherently cautious (I've read and seen way way too much,) but the idea putting a 4yo in a backless booster - or, worse, seatbelt only - or an 11mo forward-facing are just about giving me a panic attack. I would definitely figure on restraining your kids properly. I know it's only one trip... but it only takes one trip... kwim?
