Are cars permitted at FW cabins? I keep reading that you can rent golf carts, does that mean that you cannot use your car to get to and from the parks? Or is it just that you cannot drive from your cabin to whatever eatery is available at FW? Sorry, am considering FW cabins for 2014 trip, but haven't stayed there before. pixiedust:

you are allowed one car.

you can't park at the marina/settlement depost - where the restuarants are located. also where you need to go for some of the buses - otherwise you go to output depost.

if you are planning on driving - agree - except to the MK - believe me the bus or the boat (at the marina) are quicker than parking at TTC then monorail or boat to MK.

Car traffic is discouraged at Fort Wilderness but you can drive in and out of the camping area with no problem. But, the only place to park a car is at your cabin or campground. When we had to pick up our package at the Trading Post, we made sure we went the day we left and then one of us ran in to get the package.

All in all, I didn't mind not using the car for the entire week. Oh - and each cabin is allowed only one car. If you have multiple vehicles, the others will need to be parked at the main entrance.
