Cars Meet and Greet - What were they thinking??

Okay, I am usually not one to complain, but... has anyone experienced this scenario? The kids are excited to meet their favorite Cars characters, line up along the street where they are to appear, when all of a sudden chaos erupts?! They need to think of a better way to organize this meet and greet. My poor kids were in tears, afraid of being trampled by over-anxious parents pushing their kids to the front of the crowd to get pictures with Lightning and Mader. Yikes, it was ugly. We snapped a few shots of our kids amongst the madness and left for calmer pastures. Anyone agree? Any ideas? My heart is racing now just thinking of the craziness! I am surprised no one has gotten hurt. We didn't let it ruin our day, but wish it would have been run better. JMHO.

yup, its insane and its not possible to get a good picture because your in such a hurry and there are going to be 10 other people in your picture.

Why cant there be a line for the cars? It would make it so much nicer.

We've done a meet and greet twice with the cars. Once was in front of the sorc hat. They had a nice queue set up. Another time was near the stunt show. Again there was a queue. When it was our son's turn, he was handed 2 checkered flags and he posed for a pic. There was no chaos.

I know this weekend in general was chaotic. I never saw so many people at the resorts and parks. It felt like Christmas time crowds.

That sounds great. When I saw them on my last trip it was crazy like OP said. I hope they stick with this sort of queues in the future for the Cars. It sounds a lot more organized and less stressful.

Same here. We were there in September and it was total madness. My DD wearing sandals got her toes walked on a couple of times. Just trying to get a decent picture is quite a challenge.

I think think they should have some kind of queue set up so that every one can get their turn, just like they do for the other characters, seems like the logical thing to do.

It's totally ridiculous. We were there in Sept. We were sitting on one of the street steps and there comes the Cars and what seemed like hundreds of people behind them. We thought for sure there would be a line, but then a CM yells "no line - just gather around." Please. I thought we were at the running of the bulls for a moment. The crowd went crazy - mainly the adults trying to get that perfect picture.

We were there during Sept too and it was very chaotic. I didn't even know they had queues for these characters.

We were at Epcot several years ago when there was a Barbie show at the American Gardens Theater (I think is the name of the outdoor pavilion). In the afternoons there was a que set up to meet "Barbie". We waited behind the rope and Barbie was driven up in her pink limo. Each family was given time with her. She chatted a few moments with each child and then posed for pictures with child (and parents if requested!). When others ran up to meet Barbie the nice people with Barbie told them to get in line behind the rope.
It was outdoors - but very orderly and pleasant for all. Except maybe for the WAIT.
Nice memory! :goodvibes

We have seen it with both chaos and with organized lines. I think some of it depends on the CM's that are there and how many people mob the cars at first. It is much harder to try to organize something once people have started a mob mentality.
