Anybody know any information as to when Cars Land will be open? Aprox month or anything would be helpful. Trying to plan a trip for the summer but waiting for information on cars land.

Thanks so much!

There is no known date. If you are concerned plan for a midsummer visit.

I've heard May 2012 many times, but if you want to be sure I would say June or July would be best.

I insanely bought a 2br villa at GC in June just knowing that Cars Land would be open - now I'm scared!:sad1:

Keeping my fingers crossed!

Early June or late June? Keeping my fingers crossed for you. Fortunately it's been a very dry winter so far; so the construction crews should have no reason to be behind schedule on Buena Vista Street.

Does your opinion on how its coming along include BVS? Because reports are that will be the one that may hold the opening back, not Carsland.

I can't see them holding back the opening of such a MASSIVE land just because BVS and the few shops that are there are delayed.

Sure they might delay the "offical" grand opening until everything is ready, but once Carsland is ready, they will start letting guests in. There is no way there are going to sit on a finished area of the park that could allow guests to experince all the rides and shops just because BVS is not ready. From the looks of the pictures I have seen online lately, it seems like it is really coming along and am excepting a May opening (which seems to be the month that is going around a lot).

I don't know how difficult it is to get in and out with the temp entrance. With large crowds coming and going, they may want to wait until the main entrance is usable. I don't think it has anything to do with the shops, but logistics of moving large crowds in and out of the park. There's also the "more bang for your buck" in advertising the new DCA.

Well, getting in and out is not that bad, plus its not like it is going to be a massive wave always coming and going at once. It won't be as bad as getting people out of the park after WoC and that really is not that bad either.

Of course, Disney won't come out and say that Carsland is open for the reason you gave. Disney will wait for everything to be done and then do the big ad campaign. It will be more like a "soft" opening, were it is not publicly announced, but is something that is open everyday. So, when we are in the parks for the first time it is a nice surprise to see it open. Of course, people will come here and call their friends and stuff to say that it is opening, but Disney won't say anything offical. Once it's ready, it will open. There is no way they would wait to open a land that is ready to allow guests into it.

Good question … hmm, not sure … but as well I love going and seeing the accomplishments. BVS is going to be AWESOME!!!!!! :yay:

When we were waIting to go into the park the other day, we found ourselves talking to one of the project managers. He said they were on target to open in June.

"bought" or "booked"?

I am going to assume "booked". I don't see how they could have "bought" a 2br villa because I don't think you can purchase any type of Disney room and make it yours. The only Disney place that you can purchase and call your own (that I know of) are the new homes near the Magic Kingdom in WDW. Of course, those cost a TON of money, but if I had the money to spend, I would purchase one just so I can say "I live in WDW!" :rotfl2:

Sure you can. The DVC (Disney Vacation Club) is an ownership based program and I suspect CrazyDuck was referring to that.
