(P.S. By as soon as I mean within a year after you become of legal age)

Also what car would you like to start out with and what car do you want in the future.

I have a drivers liscense but I don't drive...It scares me because I'm not sure if I do it right.

Anyways I have a car (my aunt surprised me with it, if she would have asked I would have told her I didn't want one) it's a Mini Cooper. I loaned it to my cousin a couple months ago, it's what she drives.

Anyhoo, as soon as I start college I'll have to drive anyways. Ima start trying to get more comfortable with it.

I have my full license, have for almost 2 years.
I'm compeltely used to driving now, but it's still scary sometimes.

I learned to drive in an SUV, so it was tough for me to switch to a car, but now I drive a car all the time.

I would LOVE to have a mini copper someday.

I have my permit. My road test is on April 14th.

So far I've only driven around my neighborhood. Which is a grid neighborhood with lots of kids, stop signs, and speed bumps. So I've never gone over 25. So I'm scared to drive fast. But I'm sure I'll get used to it.

I drive a Ford Explorer which is my dad's car. I know I'm not getting my own car anytime soon. We don't have enough money for it.

Oh in RI you get your permit at 16 and then you have that for 6 months until your license test. Then you have a limited license for a year (and a half?) where there are a ton of limitations but the most annoying one is that you can only have one passenger in your car not including close family. All my friends have broken that law. lol

I can already drive. The legal age in the UK is 17, but since most people drive manuals (Stick shifts) most people dont pass till 18. Plus the lessons cost a bomb! Most people have qualified driving instructors, cause it has to be just right to pass, plus the tests cost a bomb too. We have two tests, a theory and a practical. I passed theory first time, but 2nd time on my practical!

I have been driving for over a year now, and love it! I used to have my own car, a Nissan Micra, but since i moved to Uni i had to sell it . No more driving till i graduate now, in 2 and a half years time!

I love being able to drive myself anywhere, but the roads in England are nowhere near as nice as in the US. In the UK their are lots of turns, lots fo roundabouts, lots of crossings, most roads are 1 lane each side, miles of traffic and high petrol, road tax and insurance prices to boot!

In fact im glad i dont have a car anymore, give me the train any day

I got my permit as soon as I was able to. As soon as I turned 16, I did my 6 hours behind the wheel, then got my permit. I took my driver's test on my 17th birthday and got my restricted license that day. I got my full license on my 18th birthday as well.

I love driving. I originally had a '99 Hyundai Sonata, but I rear-ended someone and totaled the car... then I drove my sister's '92 Nissan Maxima (and hated every minute of it), but that died on me (like, literally broke down in the middle of the road...). Now, I have a '03 Pontiac Grand Am. I <3 it.

in Iowa you get your permit at 14, and your lisence at 16. I still haven't gotten mine though.

I got my license late (almost 17), because I had to wait to take driver's ed until dance team slowed down/summer. Got my car about 1 month after getting license. It was a b-day/x-mas present from Mom & Dad.

It's a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee I do not know how you afford really nice cars for your first car Lots of kids crash them anyways within the first 2 years of driving, so no way would my parents buy me anything less than 5 years old. I wasn't even expecting to have a car given to me, let alone want a car that new! I can't even imagine the insurance on a brand new driver, with a 2008 car Mine's about $200/year, only because it's so old, and we only put the minimum insurance on it because it's so beat up. I still love it though.. I've had it for a year and it hasn't died yet!

Here we get our permits at 16 and a full license at 18. As for my first car, I just want a decent car that runs good. If it looks good that is a bonus. I have a little while to wait though so thats a little far off for me. I hope to have a '67 Mustang eventually.

Driving Scares me.

I have my permit.
Get my restricted in January to drive to school...hopefully I won't have to.
Get my license when I'm 16.

I hate driving.
And I just want an old beatup truck.
Or a nice shiny red one.
Not just for starting drive. To drive the rest of my life.

I can't wait to drive! I've got my permit, but I've only driven three times on the highway, and that was going 45-55. But I want to be able to make it to work and school on time, without waiting on everyone else; I don't want to have to go to ball games when I should be practicing flute, and I want to be able to drive to see the Youth Symphony Orchestra!

And I want a blue Mini cooper with Union Jack on the top!

I have my permit, and the soonest I can take my road test is Feb 3.

I'm actually not too fond of driving. I'd rather live in a city where I could take the subway or bus wherever I needed to go.

I am a good driver, though. I just don't like the feeling I'm driving a two ton thing that could kill someone.

I'd LOVE to drive a smart car, though. Can you imagine how easy parking would be?!

I have my temps. I am going to be 16 January 12! I am either going to start out with a Pontiac G6 or G5. I am hoping for the G5 though. I like them better.

I got my learner's permit only a few days after I turned 16. Which was last month.

I've actually only driven once, and in all honesty, it was in a parking lot But I must brag. I was pretty darn good! I think I got it from my mommy. She's from California, where, IMHO all the good drivers are I'm taking Driver's Ed in February, but I definitely hope to drive more by then. My friends are all bugging me about it. But hey, I'm like the 8th or so oldest person in my grade, and I'm only one of about two to get my permit so far. So that's fun.

As for cars...I want something safe. Sure, I want something nice, but it has to be safe too. I'm lookin' around, but it's extra hard because apparently I have to pay for my own car. But I have faith that my lovely parents will pitch in somewhat

for me, senior year is when i can get my temps. they changed the law on me, and i skipped a grade. ill probably just wait till im 18 to get my liscence. at least then i dont have to take that stupid course.

I voted Yes, but I'm in no rush to really drive at all.
My parents tell me sometimes when am I going to ask them to teach me how to drive but I'm ok for now.
I should though...

I get my dads Expedition one day it is an old car but it goes fine ( my dad is going to use that car till the day it dies) but it is an '99 but i do like it and i start driving it little by little so i get some practice
