Cars Diecast on Hotwheels track?

Hi, just curious if anyone knows if the Cars diecast cars will fit on Hot wheels tracks? My son is getting Hotwheels from grandparents and we are giving him Cars cars...but didn't get the Cars track before it sold out. Thanks for any info!

I don't think so - the Cars cars are pretty big and wide. We don't have Hot Wheels/Matchbox track, but we do have a transporter truck and a carrying case and the Cars cars don't fit in either one (well, Luigi and Guido do but they're much smaller)
