They have not changed so if you used them before you shouldn't have any problems now. We’re flying JetBlue and used these suitcases before and never had a problem. It’s been a couple years so I didn't know if things had changed.

My carry on bag is 22" and fits on domestic airlines. The only time I don't carry it on is flying out of our local airport. They use small "puddle jumpers" here and no wheeled bags fit on board so they require you to valet check them.
Does JetBlue offer gate checking? If so, I would not worry about it at all.
That has not been my experienceYes. They have changed. Airlines have gotten much stricter. You may find that your oversized bag is no longer a carryon
That has not been my experience
For those who may not know, when bags are gate checked you are not charged. At least on Southwest, Delta and American you aren't. I haven't flown Jet Blue.Keep in mind that now that most airlines charge to check bags, overhead space in the airlines is at a premium. Usually there is not enough space for everyone that wants to stow a bag up there.
Note I never said they don't measure, I said that in my experience there hasn't been a change in carry on size for domestic flights. I've seen quite a few measured. The only time I've seen them not fit in the measuring box was when the zipper was open so they were expanded.I fly weekly. I see it happen a lot.
But of course a defense of “they told me on the DIS you didn’t care” will be successful (sarcasm intended)

You've shared your experience, I shared mine. That's what OP asked for
