Carrying water bottles in the parks - what do you use?

We were there in September this year, and had hot humid weather (but no hurricanes, thankfully). We drank a lot of water, but I hated holding my bottle in my hand all the time (and everyone elses if they went on a ride!). Didn't want to pull it in and out of my backpack every two minutes.

We're going at the end of August next year, and I guess I'm looking for suggestions (and where I can buy said suggestion) for an easy way to carry water bottles around the park.

We have 2 of those water bottle straps that we bought at WDW several years ago. We just take those back with us every trip. We also have a bag that is about the size of 2 or 4 average sized fanny packs that we take. It has 2 "pockets" on the sides that are meant for water bottles.

I know people have posted that they hate them, but I wear a fanny pack. It has a holder for a water bottle. I love my fanny back; it's right there when I need it & it would be really hard for someone to steal out of it. Don't have to worry about leaving it anywhere as I am always wearing it.

yea, water bottle straps all the way!!!

I use that, or a purse...

I bought a disney purse before we went to Disney last year, and it was the first time i actually carried a purse in disney.

Before i used fanny packs, but yes, the purse worked very well to my surprise, so I just kept the water bottle in there :)

we filled a suitcase with about 25 bottle of water and put them in the fridge at POR. then we just put 4-5 bottles in our backpack and carried it around (taking turns) the park. worked out fine, it was not really a pain at all the carry the backpack around.

I found great insulated holders with straps for 1.99 at a closeout store. They are the best for those hot days. We had frozen water most of the day!

We also use the insulated holders with straps. I got them at the Disney Outlet, but they do still sell them in the parks.

We are DVC members, so I freeze the bottles 1/2 full the night before. Then fillup the rest of the way in the morning. It stays cold all day in the holders. Then freeze the other half for the next day.

i wear cargo shorts/pants and put my water bottle in one of the thigh pockets... usually have a kids' water bottle in the other one to "even me out!"

I use a water bottle strap. My husband has a waistpack that has two holders for bottled water. He keeps his in the space in his waistpack and I use the water bottle strap.

We have been twice, and we swear by what we use....
an Outward Hound day hike fanny pack (nice size) and it has 2 cup holders on side and comes with bottles, so we use those or we used our resort cups. Its very easy to carry, holds out pocket guide, sunscreen a couple snack bars, lip balm....

Here is a link to the pack...

I have an insulated bottle holder with a clip to attach it to my fanny pack. It can only hold a small (1/2 liter) bottle of water but then I'm not weighed down. What I do, as others mentioned is freeze a bottle half full of water and add more water the next morning. I also bring a frozen bottle in the car with me wrapped in a towel for when the first is gone. By the time I'm ready to switch parks, the water has melted some and is waiting for me in the car.

We have a couple of Brita water bottles that we'd fill with ice each morning. We carried them in a small cooler that was just big enough fo the both.

Thanks everyone. Lots of good ideas! After I saw the picture Eyor4Ever149 posted, I remembered that I have a hiking fanny pack just like that one! LOL! It has the two sides for water.

But I think the water straps will work best for my family. DH hates to wear fanny packs and my Pooh-sized self won't wear one.

I'll keep my eyes open for the straps. I'd like something that you can just stick the bottle into, rather than pouring on bottle to another.

Thanks again for all the great suggestions!
