We are going to WDW in December. I am hoping to travel light while in the parks - wallet, phone, magic band, possibly a small camera, and water bottle. I will not have a backpack to carry a water bottle in, so I am wondering how other people carry or attach their water bottles to themselves? I would prefer to be able to keep my hands free.

Also, I was just given a tervis tumbler like this one http://www.tervis.com/milwaukee-bre...ewers&prefn1=size&prefv1=Water+Bottle&start=2
I have not used it yet, but just looking at the design, if I connect a strap or something to the top loop, is the lid going to keep popping off? Anyone with experience using these type of tumblers? Thanks!

My advice is to skip the water bottle entirely. You can get free ice water from any counter service location.

You can attach that bottle to yourself with a carabiner, but it's going to be banging into stuff all day. It would drive me nuts.

I have several Tervis water bottles. They are great, but they are very bulky and not something I would want to tote around Disney. I use a Chums carabiner bottle holder (https://www.chums.com/hang-on/product/clip-bottle-holder) for normal disposable water bottles. I tend to start out with a fresh bottle in the morning and then sometimes refill from the free water cups available at counter service restaurants. I clip it to my sling bag, but it can also be clipped to belt loops if you are bagless.

I bought neoprene water bottle slings. I have used them for the last 2 trips to Disney as well as 3 other vacations. I also use them with S'well bottles. They keep things cold for 24 hours! I bought the slings on Amazon. Best Investment Ever! here

We use disposable water bottles. They fit in men's cargo shorts. I've seen a few folks use clips and straps, but those tend to bang around. I've also seen folks use something like a sport vest (fishing?). Other folks like camelback style bags.

If we purely relied on going to counter service places, we wouldn't drink enough water, because I wouldn't want to make the extra trip. We do get water with meals though, especially in warm months and refill our bottles.

If we lose a bottle some place we don't worry. We also don't worry about sanitizing, but DO recycle.

Do you generally have to wait in line at the restaurants if you are only getting ice water?

This is my concern as well.

No. You just walk up to the pick up counter and ask for a cup of water. They usually have them already made up. It literally takes 30 to 60 seconds.

I could never feel comfortable doing that.

And municipal Orlando water is vile. (Same with Anaheim)

So it's spring water for me. We being an insulated backpack for the water. We know we are doing our job as the backpack gets lighter. :)

1. That's what the CM's ask you to do. It's not a big deal.
2. Yes, it is. But the water you get is filtered and doesn't have a taste at all.

We use the plastic Brita water bottles. They have a loop on the top and are very light, when not completely filled. I added a clip to it and clip it to the bag I am carrying, but it could easily be clipped to a belt loop or belt. DH put it in his pocket a few times as well.

I like Brita because I can refill at a water fountain if I need to, but for the most part it is kept filled by the free water at CS locations. As @Alesia said, they usually have a lot of them already made up, and even if they don't they don't mind at all to make you a couple large cups. When we ate at Casey's last month they were asking EVERY customer if they would like additional cups of water with their meals, whether they ordered drinks or not. It is much cheaper for Disney to give out free cups of water than dealing with multiple cases of dehydration because people don't want to spend $5 for a bottle of water.

How are you carrying your wallet, phone and camera? I hate overstuffed pockets and I travel light. I use a small cinch sack for just my phone and Brita water bottle which makes the water taste fine. very lightweight and easy to deal with. If not that, I would get that neoprene water bottle holder listed above.

That particular Tervis has a screw-on lid rather than the usual pop-on tops so it should not come off when attached to anything via the loop.

Even though its insulated, it won't stay very cold for long outside (but a Dec trip may not matter as much). Agree that while I love mine for home use, it's bulky and not utilitarian enough for me to bring to Disney.

We have something similar that we received when we attended a SeaWorld Adventure Camp. All the campers are required to carry water all the time. My kids were 4 and started carrying their own water. We have used them on every vacation for the past 11 years. They are insulated and keep the drink cold as long as it takes me to drink it. I added Fuel Belt pouches to the strap so everyone can put a couple of snacks in them.

A wallet, phone, and camera can fit into my husbands pockets without overstuffing them at all - men's pockets are huge. I couldn't fit those thing in my regular pants, but I can easily fit them into cargo pants or shorts without overstuffing them.

We take a Brita bottle in. When we don't carry a backpack we hook it onto a carabiner and DH puts it on his beltloop. I don't like carrying it that way because it does tend to bounce around a lot and is heavy if it has water in it.
