Carrying pins in the park?

What do you use to carry pins around the parks? The lanyards are too heavy around the kids necks, but we want pins easily accessible for trading. Any suggestions?

I've seen cast members with hip lanyards that clip to a belt or a belt loop. You might be able to make one. I did a quick google search and only saw one for sale on ebay but there were a few images that you might be able to get ideas from.

I agree. It gets heavy and they fall off. This doesn't directly answer your question, but here is what we do. I limit the number of pins the kids can take. Each night they go over their pins and chose around 6 for trading the next day. THis is a 2 fold solution -- one, less pins to carry around. Two -- less times the kids stop on a dime to pin trade.

I have a pouch that hangs off my wrist. The one I have came from the Pirate & Princess party, so I don't know where to really get something similar. Maybe a jewelry bag of some sort. Although, it would be easy to make if you have a sewing machine. It's basically, 4x4 with a drawstring at the mouth of the bag. Tokyo Disney sells a lot of these, but little far to get, but here's an example:

Last year @ AK we bought a bucket had that had around 10 pins on it for $30. That will be the pin hat for my 3 year old DS this year, as the pins on his lanyard became too heavy last year.

My kids got a small pin trading bag from Disney. It is about 6X6 inches or so with an adjustable strap that can be worn across the body or around the waist like a fanny pack.

I only carry a few to trade at any one time, but I put them on my camera case strap, since I'm already carrying that.

I traded pins for a long time at the Parks, but stopped a couple of years ago since I just got too many, etc. But, I either carried some lose pins in an outer pocket of a small back pack or in a fanny pack. I also have a fanny pack made specially for pins which the pins attach to about 4 fleece pages. Then I left the keepers in the room at the end of the day.
