Carrying clothing onto the ship

Has anyone ever carried any of their clothing onto the ship or seen anyone doing it? I just got done ironing all of our nicer clothing for Lumiere's (& hopefully Palo's) & don't want it to get all wrinkled before we get there. I'd like to carry them myself in a garment bag - not send the garment bag w/the other luggage & not have to iron them once I'm on the ship - especially if we get LAPL rotation. Just wondering - thanx.

I have seen people carry on hanging bags. The problem would be if you arrive early, before the stateroom is ready, they would be difficult to handle. We ended up piling out luggage up beside the table, and this would defeat the purpose of keeping the garments ironed.

Another option would have been to just pack your wrinkled stuff and have DCL press them for you onboard. The cost is half of what it would cost to have them dry cleaned onboard and if you give them to steward first thing, you will have been back that night or first thing next morning.\

We brought out gowns on with us. We ironed them at WDW the night before, laid them over our laps in the back seat of the car on the way and carried them on. Only one room was ready, but no prob, we just hung them in there. It was great. The irons are VERY tough to get to on the cruises, especially a shorter cruise. If you have a formal night on the first night, there's so little time by the time you embark and get settled. I dunno how long your cruise is, but I'd go for carrying it on.

Yes, several people carry on their evening clothes. I agree with mmouse 37, bring them on wrinkled and have them sent out to be pressed. They are pretty reasonable. Just remember to put them out right away. We missed the time and I had to iron them myself in the laundy room on board.
