carry ons question for DCL transport from WDW to port

I know they come get your luggage that morning. Do you have to take all carry ons on the bus with you though? For example, if we want to take waters in a wheeled duffel (I know you can't put in checked luggage) do we need to actually have that on the bus next to us or is there storage underneath the bus?

You actually cannot take "carryon" sized bags into the seating area of the bus. There's just no room to store them. A tote bag can be brought with you, but nothing much bigger.
