Okay, not really about a son. Am formulating a bare-bones list for carry-on luggage for my parents, and wanted to make sure I am not omitting anything vital. We actually have an OL so most of the basics are already going to be waiting for us, but I want to make sure I give the 'rents good advice as they do not travel often. We're visiting in Jan and we'll definitely be doing laundry.

Sunglasses or hats. Depending on the forecast, you may need gloves/warm weather gear.

Definantley need warm clothes/jacket. The night are predicted to be in the 45-55. So if you have any plans to be out after sun down these are a must especially if your parents are older as older folks get cold easily.

Does your Dad shave he will need those items then.

What about a hair bush or comb.

Thank you both! And Shelly F- good point! My parents are 60s so not too old. We're traveling in from Ohio so we'll be bringing some warm weather gear already--but you inspired me to send them the weather report to ensure they 'get' that it's not going to be warm at night.

I don't think anyone got how clever the title was...nice job

I got, it, though it did take a bit of thought once the OP said it was about his/her parents. :)

January...can be difficult. A few years ago the January marathon started with sleet. Last year the weather kept changing by 30+ degrees. One morning with wind chill it was 21 degrees. Shudder. And shiver.

If it's a longer trip, pack for any weather. If it's short, find THE most accurate weather site out there and check it religiously.

And, IMO, pack for any weather anyway. From wool socks and longjohns and hats and gloves, to tank tops shorts and flip flops.

How about prescription & non prescription meds?

Some Tylenol or Motrin. Toothpaste. (unless that stuff is in your owners locker and you guys are in 1 villa).

My recommendation is to bring at least 3 pairs. One on your body, one in the wash, one ready to wear tomorrow. I'm guessing your parents aren't like Fred in Big Hero 6 who can get 4 days out of each pair! -- Suzanne
