Carry-on Luggage Question (Not-Disney Specific)

I know there are a lot of frequent travelers on this board. I've recently changed jobs and officially finished training on said job that is requiring much more air travel than I had before. ...which means my carry-on bag is driving me crazy.

I have something very similar to this bag:
diane-von-furstenberg-luggage-fence-wheeled-duffle-black-red-3785778

except that it's a bright magenta color. I love the color since it makes it easy to find when I do need to check it :goodvibes

I do love the bag, it has worked great for me when I've needed to travel by car because it fits a lot of stuff and is quite durable, easy to carry, etc etc. However... now that I'm doing more air travel I'm having a problem where it has a tendency to tip over on me. Especially in a bathroom stall or if I'm coming off an escalator. It's driving me nuts. I need a new bag.

I'd like to keep it around the $100 range, but I could spend more if you all think this is too low. Spinners would be nice, but I'm so used to wheeling something behind me, it's not really a deal breaker. I've had this bag for a good 4 years now (it was a graduation gift from college) and haven't needed to buy luggage for a while. I want something that will last, but I'm clueless when it comes to brands...does anyone here have a bag that they swear by? Or even a brand? :confused3

For me, it's Tumi. I travel for work and the Tumi has been my favorite. I have little upper body strength and because it's so lightweight, I can easily lift it into the overhead bins. I had a Samsonite spinner but it was too heavy for me to lift once I loaded it.

I can fit a lot into it, it doesn't tip over as long as I pack it correctly, it cleans easily and it's been pretty durable.

You might want to check out the Travel Products area at Flyertalk.com:

If you want a bag which will last, you will probably have to spend a bit more than $100. I have used my Mountainsmith Boarding Pass (purchased on sale for $89.00), for 5 years now and it has held up well:

Tumi is also a good brand. Sometimes they have bags at Costco; also they have outlets where you can sometimes get a good price.

Costco also has Kirkland luggage, which holds up well, although their smallest bag is a bit too large for carry-on if you pack too much:

Many airline employees have bags from Travelpro:
