Flying tomorrow. Was wondering if these are allowed in carry on's. Haven't flown in a long time.

Box of pop tarts
Box of cereal bars
Box of granola bars

Sandwiches

"airplane" bottles of liquor

Thanks

Yes, but the alcohol bottles must fit in a 1-quart bag as well as any other liquids you may carry on.

A TSA agent once told me most airline on-board hosts/hostesses could care less if you drink the booze that you brought on the plane with you; however, I know it is against some federal law to do that. So wait until you get off the plane to suck it down. :)

Really? I never knew that was illegal. I was thinking of doing the very thing on my next flight.

Technically, any alcohol must be "served" by the flight attendant. So, to be legal, you could ask them to open it for you. But that seems to be against most airlines policies these days.

Wow, I knew TSA permitted in carry-on's but didn't realize that it would be a problem to actually consume it on the plane. Thanks for the info.

JetBlue is happy to serve you:

You may bring wine, champagne or beer on a flight for consumption during the flight if it is in an unopened container. If you’d like to drink the alcohol you carry on, you may give it to one of our Inflight crewmembers, and they will be happy to serve it to you.

Thank you all for your responses.

I plan on using the bottles in room. Trying to avoid a checked bag. So from what I understand I can bring little bottles but they have to fit in a quart size ziploc bag.

Anyone ever travel with food or sandwiches? Looking to bring some wawa hoagies to eat when we get to our destination.

If you go to the TSa website there is a pretty extensive list of what is prohibited. If it's not there you can bring it.

In general if your food is solid--holds its shape at room temperature--and in a container that prevents spills/leaks it's okay to carry on. I would avoid taking anything that you get from the refrigerated case since food poisoning would be a lousy way to start off vacation.

And for the love of all things Holy, make sure you food is odorless. No tunafish!

If I am not mistaken, food for the flight is acceptable to be carried on the plane and will not count towards your carry-on/personal item. Carry your sandwiches in a separate bag and free up room in your carryon.

Thanks all!

I've been to the TSA website and just wanted to make sure I was reading it right.

So, I have a quart size ziploc with the little bottles in it. Hopefully I don't have to chug it at the gate :rotfl2:and it can stay in my carry on.

Ew! I hear ya!!! That is the worst. I was just gonna pack a cheese hoagie to eat on the other end of the trip at the hotel.
