Carry on cooler question

I got that cooler at Disneydirect.com, but have not seen it on there for a while.

Its not really a hassle to carry with you. We are typically the first on the ship (behind those in wheelchairs, etc) and found it was not a big deal, mostly because it on wheels.

The stateroom hostess (Cosana) was great at filling it up every day with more ice.

Hey Billinaz, that is the exact same cooler that I bought last October from Disney Direct. It worked perfectly on our cruise. No problem wheeling it right on the ship. It is great being able to have an ice cold beer whenever you want right in the cabin. It was the best purchase we made for our cruise, and we will be using it again on our next cruise.

I brought it with me inside luggage. On the way home we filled it with beach toys and checked it as another piece of luggage....

We cruised 1/29 and took a soft-sided rolling cooler filled to the brim with beer, wine and scotch (no ice).

When we went through security at the terminal, the guy put this HEAVY cooler through the x-ray machine and said "Holy Mackeral!" it was no problem whatsoever.

Our cabin steward kept the cooler on our verandah and filled it daily with ice.

When we were in Key West, we purchased more beer and soft drinks and kept it in the cooler. Saved us money and was a convenient way to have cold drinks on hand.

Has anyone brought on bottles of water not in a cooler? I understand from another post that you can buy a family water package through room service, but couldn't you bring your own onboard and chill it in the mini-fridge?

We're planning on taking a soft-sided cooler filled with beverages as a carry-on. It's the kind on a luggage rack so it can be rolled on. I called Disney to confirm this would be ok and didn't really get a straight answer. Has anyone used one of these as a carry on?
TIA!!

As you are leaving the ship for an excursion there is a table where they sell bottled water. One of the options is to buy a six-pack of water in an insulated soft-sided "cooler" bag. The price was reasonable and I needed the water for Cash, as he cannot work the drinking fountains so I bought one. It was no trouble getting back on the ship and I cannot imagine them selling coolers that are prohibited...

You cannot really chill anything in the "mini-fridge"....Better to think chill in ice and keep cool in mini- cooler.. The mini-fridge is not a fridge. When I put my room-temperature Pepsis in the cooler to chill, they finally reached cooler than room temperature by the end of the cruise...Be resigned to iced drinks or drinks on ice...Room service will happily keep you supplied with ice. Take your cooler to fill with ice.

We also have a cooler like the ones described here. Rolling it around the port and the ship on embarkment day was no problem. Before we entered the gates though, a baggage handler asked me if what I had was a cooler. I just said, "It's my carry-on luggage". He said, "okay," and walked away. It was filled with bottles of water for me and Sam Adams for dh. Like the others said, our room host kept the cooler iced.
