What do you usually pack in your carry-on bag for the flight to Disney? I want to be set, just in case the airline loses our luggage. Thanks!

That's a wise precaution no matter where you are traveling to. The general rule of thumb, is to carry all your medications, your expensive electronics, a change of clothes (don't forget underwear!) and toiletries in your carryon.

I also carry a bathing suit for me and DD6. Snacks. Film (both disposables water cameras and film for SLR-if I'm bringing. I keep all my film in one ziploc so it's easy to take out for hand checking at security. Don't leave it in your suitcase-they say the scanners are powerful enough to ruin it.) I bring all my over the counter meds in one bottle. I bring Aleve, Exedrine Migraine, Antacid, Sleep Time, Immodium and allergy pills. I write down on a piece of small paper which color is which pill, just in case I forget, or someone else gets them out. (the bottle I use has a child-safe cap on it) I also carry a smaller version of this bottle with me in my purse at all times. A couple trips ago I forget the bottle and it cost alot to replace it at Walmart, plus I had to bring home all those big bottles.

I also put some of my clothes in my DD suitcase and some of hers in mine. This way if one gets lost, no-one is without clothes. Hasn't happened yet-just being sure. :goodvibes

We use the magical express and I am sure you do too. So since it may take a while to get the lagguage to our room this is what my DH and I do. In my carry on I take the medicenes and beauty aide items. In his we take a complete change of clothes and an extra pair of shoes. Plus a jacket because we usually get to the world around dusk and it is chilly in Feb. Enjoy

We do strictly carry on--even to the UK for 5 1/2 weeks! :thumbsup2
I hate waiting at carousels or fretting over lost luggage

I do check the number & exact size of carry on cases allowed, way ahead of time & then a day or three just before we depart--things can change & rules differ from airline to airline.

Have a super trip!

All vacation paperwork, as well as reading material and the MP3 player. I then place the ziplocks for the first night's pajamas, a change of clothes, and the toiletry bag. It all goes in my classic LL Bean backpack which will fit under the seat if neccessary. Without question I always have a sweater or a light sweatshirt, the planes are always cold no matter when you fly!

I also either bring the bagilini or a small purse that fits in the carry-on with my daily essentials. If I can get overhead space the backpack goes up top and the smaller bag goes underneath the seat.

-Prescriptions and essential toiletries/basic makeup
-Change of clothing and a T to sleep in, in ziploc bags
-Electronics (phone, camera, MP3 player, laptop)
-Vacation/Travel information
-Bottled Water
-Snack Foods (both me and DH bring enough for our meals on flight, plus snacks...we have the luck of frequently being on delayed flights)
-Airplane reading/journal

Like pezheadmeg, I carry/wear a cardigan/hoody for the flight. And I wear my Disney walking shoes. That way, I'm prepared not to lose any time in the parks just in case the luggage decides to go on its own vacation.

I always pack a carry-on with EVERYTHING I will need for the first 24 hours after I land. I think of it as "flight insurance" in case the airline delays my checked luggage. I may be annoyed that they (hopefully temporarily) lost my luggage, but at least I'll still be vacationing in comfort that first day because I have everything I need.

Stuff for the first 24 hours might sound like a lot, but it's really not. Try it, and you'll see how little space it takes up in a carry-on bag: one complete change of clothes, swimming needs, PJs, toiletries, medications, camera (if not in its own camera bag, which would be considered a "personal item") and a book for the airplane. And remember, each ticketed passenger is entitled to one carry-on bag, so it's not like you have to cram everyone's "24 hour kit" into one carry-on. Last year, my then-5 year old and 2.5 year old LOVED having their own backpacks to take onto the airplane.

Because I always travel this way whenever I fly anyway, the few hours lag in the delivery of DME luggage didn't affect me in the slightest.

We always pack the following:

Laptop
Medication
Toiletries
Electronics (ie. camera, cd player, psp, etc. . . )
Change of Clothes
Swimsuits
Reading Material
Activities for the Kids
Snacks
and the kids each have their own travel blanket and pillow for the airplane.

We always travel with a change of clothes in our carry-on, even for the trip home. You never know when you might get delayed somewhere. We did last year in Atlanta on our way home and the airline would not let us have our checked luggage. The kids were so happy to have a change of clothes the next morning for our flight home.

For non-digital cameras, absolutely put your camera/film in your carry on. Folks at the airport have told me that the equipment they use to scan the checked bags will expose your film.

Along w/that your toothbrush, medications, comfy shoes and a change of clothes should get you by until your bags show up.

Have an awesome trip!
