:wizard: Going to stay at the Carribean Beach Resort in August, and i was wondering what the best "Island" is to stay at. I am traveling with a thirteen year old and a seventeen year old. I dont kow if there are any different things that might make it more fun or exciting for them, or which is the nicest to stay at. :earsboy:

I really liked Jamaica buliding # 44 or 45, right near quite pool and a short walk to food court!

Our favorite Island was Aruba! Liked Jamaica but had a few issues with our rooms there. Also stayed in Barbados a long time ago. I remember it being pretty nice there, too.

Trinidad North and Martinique are the preferred locations costing extra nightly. Many seems to like Jamaica.

<<<<<<Martinique is great due to closeness of food court and pool, but I really enjoyed Aruba. I loved that walk across the bay, very relaxing, and the view is great. :flower:

Our family likes Jamaica, Building 44 or 45. It is just a short walk across the bridge to the food court and the main pool.

Jamaica sounds good to me. One of the ladies in our group has trouble with stairs. Will this be a problem? How far is it to the bus stop?

that is the other good thing about Jamaica...it is the first for the bus stops if I remeber correctly and it is a short walk to the bus stop. as far as the food court...you hit sidewalks and a bridge..I cannot remeber seeing any stairs that way!

My wife, daughter, and I stayed at the carribean beach about 5 years ago and it was just a little bit of a let down. The rooms were fine, the service was fine and the pool was fine. We have been traveling to WDW each year for the past 8 years. We stayed at the Poly 5 times, the Swan once the Carribean Beach once and off property once. And this year we age going to try the Beach Club. The thing that got to me about the Carribean Beach was that everywhere we went on the bus, the bus made 5 stops before we even left the resort. It stopped at each island. That was a shock to me. I guess we were just spoiled staying at the Poly. We would never stay at the CB again.

Thank you Sportears. I'm calling tomorrow to make sure we get Jamaica building 44 or 45. The info about the bus stops sounds bad. It would be a lot better to be first. It could take several buses if you are at the last stop in order to get on the bus. No wonder people rent cars.

When Staying at CB we usually stay in Martinique, it's worked well for me building 25 or 25 it is a prefferred location, but I have never had to pay the price difference. I have trouble walking in general so it's never been a problem, it's very close to the food court, pool and bus stop!

We like Barbados since it is close to the Custom House (Guest Registration/Service, taxi drop off) and not too long of a walk to Old Port Royale.

I guess the best place to stay would be the 3rd island on the bus route. More than likely, the bus won't be filled up and the bus will only make 2 more stops before leaving the resort. We stayed in the last island and we watched too many full busses pass us by. It was an easy walk to the first island, so we walked to that bus stop instead, though we had to stop at every freaking island on our way out. Bus drivers talk to each other. If they have to skip islands because of a full bus. They notify the next bus dirver, and he may skip the first few islands to ensure that the last islands get picked up. IT REALLY GOT FRUSTRATING.

What is Old Port Royal? Is that where the DCL bus will take us to the ship and where the airport bus will drop us off at the beginning of our land/sea package?

We stayed in Jamaica building 45 in December and found it to be a good location for all the reasons previously mentioned. Re: the buses, I know that I had heard that Jamaica was the first bus stop, but our experience was different. Sometimes it was first when the buses came in from the side road just above Jamaica, and sometimes is wasn't, when they came in the entrance by the Custom House. So I think that varies, no matter what people tell you. We never had a problem with full buses, but we did go at a less busy time. But it never seemed like it took that long, even with making several stops. I guess it's just a matter of personal preference. We had a rental car but never used it to get around within WDW.

Stay in Jamaica....Remember it might be the last building the busses come to to pick you up to go to the parks, but it's the first one to drop you off after a long day at the parks..

I may be mistaken, but I believe that Old port royale is where the food court is- I don't think it has anything to do with the DCL.
