This is the first report I have ever done so please be gentle with me!!. On our trip was Me (jane 34).... Hubby (Doug 37)...Son (Tom 12)....Son (Sam 6)
Holiday booked & flew with Virgin.
Day One
Left home at 4.30pm for Manchester Airport...very foggy so the journey took a little longer than expected. Was leaving the car at Ringway Parking. Easy to find BUT very very slow at booking us in and getting to the airport as we had to sit on a bus for 45mins before it moved (they insisted it needed to be half full!!) and it was miles from the airport. Felt a bit annoyed as we booked them through Virgin. Normally use Premier Parking who are MUCH better (More about Ringway Parking on the last day as it got worse on our return!!).
When we finally got to the airport the check-in went very smoothly and got our prebooked seats. Had some breakfast and a mooch around the shops before heading towards Departure Gate. Getting to the plane was a bit of a pain as they had only one bus so was doing it in rows. We were one of the last rows called and then they were missing 2 passengers who finally turned up late!...because of this the plane missed its time slot so we sat on plane for just over an hour before we set off. Flight was good...food nice, good films and TV. It was only half full. Certainly the best flight we have had!!. We had never flown to Orlando airport before (only Sanford) and luckily we had got chatting to a couple on the plane that knew the procedure as I felt we would have got lost at all the different stages there are at the airport what with the Monorail, security (several times!!) etc. Immigration was fast and better than Sanford. We were told by the Virgin rep where our transfer coach was and told there was only our hotel and All Stars to be dropped off...we were really chuffed with that so sat with another family who were going to AllStars. After about 15 mins waiting we were told by the driver we were waiting for another family who were also staying at CBR...we waited and waited with Sam getting so tired and cranky. !hr 15mins after boarding the coach the rep came on, apologised and informed us that the family and changed their minds and hired a car but had not bothered to tell Virgin!!.
Finally we were on our way. We dropped of a All Stars first and then onto CBR. Checked in at Custom House. They boys were given free Disney magazines, pens and stickers. We were in Matinque building number 2349. Used the luggage service who took us to our room. We were pleased. Last year we stayed at Pop Century but the CBR rooms are a little bigger. The luggage man informed use that new mattress' had just been put on the beds and we were the first to use them!!. Had a lovely welcome note from the cleaner and the towels on the sinks had been made into pineapples. The boys switched the TV on straight away they wanted to check it was not the same annoying girl showing you around Disney who had presented the year before...it wasn't it was an even more annoying girl!!.
The suitcases were unpacked it 5 mins flat and the boys changed into the swim trunk. Hubby and I were ready for a drink!!. Walked over to the main area and had a drink at the outside bar whilst boys went into the main pool. They loved the slide!!. We decided not to have a good look round until the next day as we were all tired so after a 'Bud' we had a quick look in the Calypso Trading Shop and the food court. We ordered a pizza and took it back to the small courtyard our room faced onto to eat. The boys couldnt keep their eyes open any longer so off we wnt to the room and soon fell asleep in the wonderful high comfortable beds with soft pillow (best bed I have ever slept in).
Hope this is OK for my first attempt will do more tomorrow!!
