I was just wondering if the $35 for the carriage rides at POR is per person or group? We are staying here one night in September and thought my DD would like this. Also how soon can you reserve a time and who do you call? Thanks

It is per group -- 4 to 5 fit in a carriage -- the official line is 4 adults or 2 A & 3 children.

One thing I don't know, but am interested in if anyone else knows -- How far in advance do you have to book? Can you book that same night?

Tip? How much?

Can you arrange for the guy to have champagne. I thought that would be a nice touch. Also if he knew my GFs name so when he helped her in he could call her "Miss Dona" so she would figure out I planned the whole thing.

I booked the carriage ride and had to wait until 90 days out prior to booking. I am also curious as to what an appropriate tip would be. Also, what form of payment is accepted (room card charge, cash only)?

I guess it depends upon what time of year. We went in the first week of May. The first night we got there-thurs-we couldn't get anything. She offered us the next night-fri-& I think we had our choice of times. We did this right down at the concierge desk. If you think you are going in a busy time, then maybe call to get a ressie. If memory serves me correctly, it was either cash or charge to room. No credit cards. We had to hold the ressie with one, but when you have to pay the carriage driver, it's cash or room charge. The trip was $35 & I think Dh gave the driver $5 or $6? The driver will take your picture for you too. I think if you call 407-disney they will connect you to recreation or something.

As a carriage driver (not at WDW), an appropriate tip would be $5-10.

Im a little newbie here so where is this carriage ride and can you tell me where it rides around?

I'm getting a surprise carriage ride for my DF and I the evening before our wedding.. I thought it'd be a nice romantic break from all the hoopla and a way he and I could have some quiet time before the wedding together.

I'm so excited!

SCMICKEYGAL- The carriage ride is at POR. They start at the marina and take you to POFQ and back around to the marina. It is very nice, quiet and relaxing after a day in the parks.

The number to call for carriage ride reservations is 407-WDW-PLAY. I did have to use my credit card to hold the reservations but it will not be charged to my credit card unless "no show".

does anyone know how late you can book a carriage ride? i like the idea of taking a ride before heading back to our room after a day at the parks....

I believe they start at either 6:00 or 6:30 and last until 9:00.

Anyone know if you can bring a glass of wine on the carriage ride?

Thanks,
Sarah

Yes you can bring anything to drink. I just booked it last week. The CM said you can drinks, but no food. I booked mine right threw the 1800 number, the same time I made some ADRS.

You can pay with credit card, cash or room charge.

I just tipped 5 bucks, and gave an even 40. I hope that was enough.
