Hi! I know that a carriage ride is available at two of the hotels (can't remember which...Port Orleans?) Anyway, does anybody know what kind of carriage it is? Are we talking Cinderella's carriage? I am guessing no but I thought I would ask. Does anybody have a picture?

I saw it the other night. It looked to be like most you find in big cities, the horse was a giant pure black and beautiful. The carriage was just a normal one. That was at Port Orleans

Can you tell me more? We're heading to VWL in May. How much is it? How to you reserve it? Will it hold 4 people? Where does it go? You get the idea? DD6 and DS2 would love it!

Here's the info on the WL one...it is $30, and you pay the driver. It is a 30 min. ride. You make ressies by calling 407-wdw-play. We had ressies in Dec. but we cancelled them. People say it is wonderful!!

Good luck,

I just did the Port Orleans one a few weeks ago. It will hold 4 people and cruises the well-manicured resort grounds. It is a very nice ride and worth the $30...if you like horse carriage rides of course. The carriage is just an ornate open thing, not covered, but they do have blankets and they play relaxing music if you want.

we did this in December at Wilderness Lodge... we did not care for it. It was a very warm night 70? So that was a plus. We had a driver that was not at all talketive. He introduced himself and the horse and that was about it. It was VERY dark on those walkways at FT Wilderness. If you have small kids like mine they may not appreciate that. while noone was openly scared they did not want to be there at all. Including my dd 18 who kept saying it was creepy. I think maybe it's more of a romantic couples thing At least for us it seemed that way.
That said my SIL also did this and she thought it was great so to each his own!

Offically the carriages hold 4, but we had 5 and the driver said that was fine. The carriage is a Vis a Vis where the two seats face each other. We have done 2 of them and absolutely loved it. Well worth the $30. I suggest making ressies as the times we have gone many people have approached the driver to see if they can get a time spot.

One ride we went down the trail between the campground and the lodge, and yes it was very dark. The second time we rode the driver asked where we wanted to go. We asked for a tour around the campground. I liked that ride even better. Nice lighting, quiet atmosphere....it was beautiful.

Both times we met the carriage in front of Pioneer Hall, where the Hoop-de-doo is and the Trails End Buffet.

This may be a stupid question but.....are they all at night? Does anyone know the times? My kids are fireworks nuts and we don't usually miss a night of sparkles. Could we do one before the MK fireworks?

$30 isn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be!
