"Carpe PM" pass at PI offered during the summer?

I read about this pass in another post, and was wondering if it is usually offered throughout the summer months?

Also, can I combine this pass with an AP or DC discount. In other words, can I purchase PI admission with an AP or DC discount, then immediately (or later that night) redeem my admission for the $5 Carpe PM pass for the next five nights? Has anyone done this?

Hope that's clear, and that someone can answer my questions.:D

To my knowledge this has been offered without pause for about the last 18 months. We used it in Nov. of 2002 and as a result we have several Plusses left over from that trip to use next. Also. my understanding is that this can't be mixed with any other 'deal'. You need to make a full-priced regular purchase, add $5, and for that you'll get in the next 5 consecutive nights as well as the night you make the purchase. You'll need a picture ID so you can't hand the pass off to another person.

Hey Bill,

Didn't realize you'd used one of these things. Is it five nights total, or your original entry night plus five? It's either that or an Annual Pass, I'd rather pay $27 than $54. Heck, they'll get it all anyway...

Pat,

We jumped on this last trip down. The 'normal' $22 or whatever it is gets you in that night, the $5 you pay at the same time gets you 5 more consecutive nights, so it's 6 consecutive nights for $27 and some change. I agree, any savings on one thing goes right down some other rathole, or mouse hole as it were.

I appreciate all the information. All things considered, it seems it would be worth giving up an AP discount on admission to take advantage of this deal.

I, too, have a few plusses left on some old passes... I'll save them for the more expensive water parks.

Debbie,

Have you actually done this? That is, bought PI tickets from an outside vendor and upgraded them at PI? It's been my understanding that tickets must be bought at regular prices, and that not even the AP or DTD Hotel prices apply. I'm really curious if you did this and it worked...

Pat

I have done it twice. Of course, there's always the possibility that I couldn't in the future, but the tickets from the brokers are exactly the same as the ones you buy at the gate.

Thanks for the ideas everyone. I'd be interested to hear any other accounts of using discounts or tickets from an outside vendor, and then upgrading at PI.

One other point I'm not clear on: when you purchase your PI ticket, must you upgrade immediately to take advantage of the $5 deal? Or can you upgrade later that night?

I thought I read on another post of someone upgrading later on in the evening. If that's the case, how would they know how you purchased your ticket (or what discounts you used)?

I'm not trying to cheat the system, I just want to know the real deal, and would appreciate any further insight.

Personally, although I trust Debbie, I'm going to make the purchase at the door. The savings on a PI pass at Ticketmania (or some other discount broker) isn't worth the chance of getting to the gates and having them say "no dice."

I think I have to agree with you on this.

Anyone have success combining an AP/DC discount in conjunction with this deal?

Also, is it indeed "at time of purchase" or can you upgrade later in the night?

Hello,

In regards to combining the AP discount, and adding the 5 extra days, I have done this my last two trips down there ( latest in 12/02). It comes out to around $22 or so for 6 nights, and is a very good deal. I do not know if you can buy it, and then go to the window later on in the evening and add it on, I did it all at once.

Hope that helps,

Take care,

Bill ( who will be stepping foot on Pleasure Island in about 24 hrs!!!! )

I agree, Bill, that's a very good deal.

Thanks again for replying.:)

Have a great trip!:bounce:

On my January trip I used a pre-purchased discounted ticket from Ticketmania and was able to buy the 5 day extras on my way out that same night.....I wonder if you could go back the next day with the used ticket from the night before and do it also....(and I wound up not using it anyway!)

I thought I read in another post that you could upgrade later on that night. Thanks for the confirmation.

When I bought the upgrade to 5 days, I asked when I needed to decide if I wanted to upgrade by, and unless I'm dreaming, the cast member told me I could actually wait and do it within 2 days!

Hello,

I just returned from WDW. I was able to use the 5 day add-on feature, coupled with my AP discount, which brought the 6 night pass to around $22. They told me you must purchase the 5 night add-on the first night you use the pass. Hope that helps.

Take care,

Bill

Thanks, Bill for the update.

Hope you had a great trip.

Now I'm more excited than ever to visit PI:bounce: :Pinkbounc
