Carousel or HoJos or Paradise Pier?

We are going on a trip Nov 10th - 14th of this year. We have a reservation at Carousel for a three-bed room for about $1200, and we're estimating the Disney tickets will be about $600.

So we were looking on the getawaytoday site, and found a deal at HoJos for a two bed/rollaway room AND tickets for about $1100...and then there's one at Paradise Pier for about $1600.

Money has gotten a little tighter since we first started planning this trip, so I don't think we'll end up going with the Carousel now, especially since we could get a room in the park for less at PP...but I wanted to ask you fine people here, which would you choose? Is the extra bed worth it (there are three adults -- my mom, brother, and I), or would a HoJos rollaway be fine? And would spending the bit extra as compared to HoJos to stay at PP be worth it?

Thanks <3

I always find myself partial to onsite hotels. I find them worth it for a nice room and it's Disney magic :wizard: You could also ask if they can upgrade your room view for free when you check in. I've been able to do that a couple of times when the hotel isn't full and it makes it seem like you've gotten a better deal.

As for the the three beds, are all of you unwilling to share a bed with someone?? I find the beds to be plenty big enough for two people, and I really like to spread out when I sleep  If you all want your own separate bed, the room with three beds would be the best option.

Either way, your vacation is going to be magical!! You'll have a fantastic time wherever you stay :thumbsup2

It might be worthwhile to consider doing the hotel and park tickets separately rather than get a package.
I checked Hojos site and the entertainment card rate is available for 2 of your days, the 10th and the 13th. Those rates start at $59 for a standard room. You could use the Disboard rate of 15% off for the remainder of your dates. I'm not sure what they charge for adding on a rollaway bed if you needed one, but someone on here should know. I would do the math adding on your park tickets separately to what it would cost to stay at Hojos using the ent. rate and the Disboard rate and see how that compares to the quote that you received from Getaway.

Here's a link to Hojos website where it shows what dates the ent. rate is available. :)

Oh, I didn't realize there was a Disboards discount...how would I go about applying that?

I would use the ent. card discount first, and then the disboards discount for the remaining days. The ent. rate is 50% off and it is available for 2 of your days. It is a really good deal. Even if you don't have an entertainment card now, you can make the ressie now and then get the card later. If you don't have or get an entertainment book, you can borrow a card from somebody else or just buy the card alone on E-bay for about $5.00. You will only need it when you check in. The only drawback to reserving with the ent. rate is that if you cancel, you would lose one night's charge. You do not need to pay a deposit or anything when you reserve the room. Since you may want to use 2 different types of rates, I would call in-house reservations and make the reservation through them. Give them your dates and see what's available. Tell them that you want the entertainment card rate for the days that it's available (The 10th and the 13th are listed on their website right now, but that can change daily), and then ask for the Disboards discount for the rest of the days. Read the link that I sent in my post above before you call them. It will tell you what rooms are available at the ent. rate, the cost, and their policy so that you can make a decision on what would fit your needs. You would need to call the Hojo in Anaheim itself. (Not the 1-800 number).Their number is 714-776-6120. Call during regular business hours and ask for "in-house" reservations. Good Luck! :)

Wow, thanks for all the information disneyfan! It's extremely helpful

You might want to check out the Marriott Fairfield Inn across the street from DL. Nothing fancy but clean, comfortable and close, with a Mimi's restaurant nearby and another family restaurant basically onside. Not to mention the mcdonalds next door. I find it to be as close as Paradise Pier, a little nicer quality and much cheaper. Also the Marriott has a comfortable foldout chair in some rooms for a fifth person at no extra charge, if I recall correctly.
