Carousel of Progress is being worked on !!!

Love this attraction, maybe because I'm a huge fan of Walt Disney, who designed the whole thing.

I was sad to see the ride almost empty (on a Saturday afternoon when the park was not empty) last time I went to WDW, in September: nearly 15 people only in the stage.

I really hope they don't remove this attraction in honor of Walt Disney.

I really love this ride, it has always been one of my favorite's... maybe it's because of the catchy song.. or the fact that you get to sit in a nice air conditioned, comfortable theatre for about 30 minutes :rotfl:

Good to see they are putting money into it to refurbish it... hopefully it means they will keep it around for a long time.

I love COP! I noticed the last time I saw it that it was getting quite torn. The audio-animatronics needed major help and the seats are horrible. This is great news. Can't wait to see it. We'll be there in 26 days! YAHOOOO.

I love COP, this is great news! I also remember the "Now is the time" song... loved it! We sang it at my graduation from elementary school.

Does anyone else remember when they used to have fireworks in the final scene that would light up all over the walls? I loved that. *sigh*

Any of you guys been around long enough to remember the first song... "Now is the time, Now is the best time, Now is the best time of your life... "

I do! I loved that song. I'm just so thrilled that money is being spent to take care of this classic attraction.

Funny, I just rode COP on Friday, Oct 20 and it definately didn't have new seats. When did you ride it?

I love COP, I was worried that it might go the way of The Timekeeper. So I'm happy to hear it's getting some TLC. :goodvibes

This is one of my favorite rides from childhood! Hopefully it will be open Dec.6, our MK day. If so, it's a must-do. I'll have to torture my Dh and kids, but I know my 3 yo will like the dog!

I ONLY remember the "Now is the time" song. Is that completely gone? Don't know the "beautiful tomorrow" song.

Glad to see this ride is getting some TLC and that by doing so hopefully Disney is indicating this ride will be around for a long time to come. I have heard rumors that they may mothball it - I certainly hope not!!!

Have to relate this CoP story. DW and I were headed to the attraction when we decided to get FP for BL. I told her to go on ahead and I will meet her in line. She goes over, the doors open and she grabs a seat, saving one for me thinking I am right behind her. Imagine her surprise when they close the doors and no husband!!!! Meanwhile I jog over from BL with the FP and no wife!!! I almost panicked wondering what could have happened before I figured it out.

Anywho, we had a good laugh when she got off and I made her go on again because I missed it the first time!

"Life is a prize, live every minute, open your eyes and watch how you win it. Yesterday's memories may sparkle and gleam but tomorrow is still but a dream. Right here and now, you've got it made, the world's forward marching and you're in the parade!" Everybody! LoL. I don't remember it, but I know it from the HCOE CD's. LoL>

I love COP. It's my favorite! New seats, carpet, etc. sounds great. I have one question - did they oil the doors? We got stuck in COP in July, and had to ride it twice. The CM's didn't respond to our door banging!! EEk!!
