I was wondering, after seeing a discussion of the different areas at Saratoga...has anyone stayed in the Carousel area, and what did you think?

Our next trip back to WDW we wanted to try out Saratoga a few night, it will be 2 adults, no kids this trip...

Yes, we were in Carousel, Bldg 7101-7436 our last trip, just 2 weeks ago. We have always requested and stayed in Congress Park but were assigned Carousel this trip. We were pleasantly surprised. The bus stop was very convenient, the Paddock pool was a short walk away and the main pool and check-in were less than a 10 minute walk. Not as easy a walk to Downtown Disney, but still doable.

We are SSR home resorters- we were given the Carousel section for our daughters weddding - between my SIS and I we booked 6 rooms- we did not care for the area at all. We were in the last building there- and the bus entrance and flashing light was our view. It was a shame sice our son inlaws family was there from the UK as our guests. We were sooo excited to show off our SSR and when we got to the room and opened the curtains for the view it was well'.... less than desireable. It was a very quiet section but it was far from the bus stop and miles from the pool. It was Jan so the pool thing was not really an issue. Maybe if you are a few buldings up it would be ok. Mind you- we love SSR and usually stay in Congress Park and last time the Paddock which was very nice. I would try and stay away from Carousel if you can.

We were there in May for 2 nights and then one night in the Paddock. The three night stay was not pleasant. The only night we really enjoyed was the night at the Paddock. We were not close to a pool or a bus stop. When we arrived we had someone not very friendly that checked us in but then we had the most wonderful Lewis. Lewis took pity on us and allowed us to move to the Paddock. We enjoyed the Paddock. When/ if we go back to SSR I will request Congress Park. I do not want to ever stay at the Carousel, again.

Stayed at the Carousel in May with wife and teenage daughter and loved it. It was a little walk to the main building, but it was also far away from kids and noise. Right across the street from the bus stop, which happened to be the first stop on the route of 5 stops at SSR, meaning empty buses in the morning, and the first stop on the way in at night. No issues at all and would stay there again without giving it a second thought.

There are only two buildings in Carousel, it does amaze me that you have these two buildings and people will say they are so far from the pools, the bus stop, etc.

And then you will have people say they loved it, bus stop and pool were not far at all. :confused3 It is almost like these buildings are moving around.

Therefore I am not sure you can really make judgements about locations, as it such a personal thing. Obviously some people enjoy a short walk and some want to be where they can open their door and jump on the bus or into the pool.

I found the Carousel location to be nice, quiet, close to the bus stop and not far from anything so much as to be a deterent.

There will always be differing opinions based on based on the likes and needs of familys. We have stayed at SSR twice, the first time in Carousel. For our second trip, our only room request was "ANYWHERE but Carousel". For us it was just too far from the main pool and main building which was important for our needs.

We stayed at the Carousel and loved it. It was quiet and the bus stop was very convenient.

Haven't stayed in Carousel yet, but I would think it would be a nice quiet location. The last time we stayed at SSR, we got up early and took a nice long walk around the property before we headed to the theme park (we let our teen-aged son sleep in that morning). It was beautiful.
