Did you go to Carolyn Allen's to order your tuxes or did you do it at your local Jim's Formalwear? As in did you go to CA to try them on and decide on the style? We've got all the measurements we need!

I've scheduled an appt with them on the 5/16. We originally were going to go over on 5/19, but we had to re-schedule as well.. we forgot to schedule our site visit! I just estimated how much the cab fare will be between Pop Century and Carolyn Allen's and it came to something like 50 round trip

So between the cost and the fact that 5/16 is my birthday :rolleyes1and I really want to spend it more in the Magic Kingdom than traveling around Orlando, has me questioning if this is necessary!

What do you all think?

We used MW. I picked out the tux with DH online. Then, I went to a MW in TX and "registered" all of the men in the bridal party. Then, they all went to MW in their area to get the measurements done, but this info was collected by the MW in Orlando. I spoke with the lady many times, so I knew who to talk to to make sure the guys were getting things done. Then, the tuxes were delivered to Bell Services at the GF. There was a problem with the fit on DH's tux, so they sent out another tux, as well.

We never had to visit any facility (except the one in my hometown).

We used CA but didn't go to the shop. DH tried on suits similar to the ones CA offers through Jim's Formalwear at local JF dealers near us. Then we just picked the style number and sent CA everyone's measurements.

The only problem we ran into was that the tux shop that measured the best man got the coat length wrong, and because we'd picked a style that CA doesn't keep on hand, we couldn't swap it out for the right size in time for our wedding.

We had a local shop measure the guys and sent the info to CA. I then chose the styles on line and faxed the payment info. I had them steam my dresses and deliver the tuxes and shoes to our room. We had a few adjustments needed, they made the adjustments and returned the tuxes to bell services. The morning after the wedding I left the tuxes at bell services for CA to pick up. I also left my gown and had CA have it cleaned and shipped home to me. SOOOO easy and worthwhile not to have to mess with anything. We also shipped the dresses down in advance so I didn't have to worry about carrying all that extra stuff on the plane. I would highly recommend CA.

We physically went to Carolyn Allen's to pick out the tuxes. I don't think it's necessary, but it was nice to meet everyone there and establish a face to face relationship. It's completely up to you- I can understand not wanting to take away from park time, but I personally liked going to the shop and picking everything out in person. You have to decide what you're comfortable with.

(And if this helps-- we were there for maybe an hour. So it wouldn't cut too much out of your day) :goodvibes
