Thanks...Wilderness and Beth!!! I always look forward to the encouragement that I get from you.:D

I had another good day. Maybe, I will be able to keep this up. This is still a big worry for me.:(

My menu today was:

water

breakfast- 2 spinach quiche, tomato juice, canadian bacon, decaf

snack- 15 mixed nuts, water

lunch- spring mix with cucumber, tomato, mushrooms, lf moz. cheese, water

snack- lf moz cheese string, water

supper- leftover chicken with cilantro dip, celery with laughing cow cheese, water

snack- sf orange jello, decaf, water

more water

I worked in the concession stand this evening for about four hours. That means nachos, cheese fries and plain, hamburgers, hotdogs, and other yummy things. The coach even said that we could have a meal. I am happy to say that I didn't eat one single bite!!! This is one fight that I would like to win!!! Staying strong is the key!! ::yes::

Hi Carol-

Congrats on the great weigh-in! Sounds like you're doing a great job staying on plan.
Wow- that is great will power working in the concession stand and resisting the food. If you can do that-the rest will come easy!:teeth:
Keep up the great work, but do try to get some walks in- it has really helped me keep my weight loss steady- and I just feel so much better after a walk!::yes::

Have a great one-

Today was another beautiful day that went as planned. I did not get a walk in, but I did play ball with my DC. So, I did get some sort of exercise. Oh yeah, I almost forgot that I hoed my garden this morning for a good hour. Not exactly a brisk walk, but I was active today.

Julie...I really am planning to walk and do other forms of exercise in addition. I just haven't done any of that yet! Thanks for stopping by and for the support and encouragement!:flower:

My menu today was:

water

breakfast- eggs florentine, 2 slices canadian bacon, 6 oz. tomato juice, decaf

snack- 16 mixed nuts

lunch- spring mix with tomatoes, turkey, lf moz. cheese, cucumber, with vinegar & oil, water, decaf

supper- sirloin tip roast(2 small slices). green beans, water, jello, decaf

snack- decaf, lf moz. cheese string, water

more water

I hope that roast was okay to eat. I know that I am allowed to have sirloin steak, but wasn't sure about the roast. I prepared the roast with garlic, red wine, salt, pepper, soy sauce. It was very lean, with very little fat, if any.

 Carol,

Weighing in during TOM makes you very brave. Here's some :wizard: for weigh in. Remember that you are carrying water weight. Your menus look great. I saw the Pierre's ice cream, and didn't buy any. It looks too dangerous.

Hi Carol!

I can't wait to see what the scale has to say! Congrats on getting through Phase 1. I think Phase 2 is so liveable and the food choices greatly increase. I'm glad you liked that ice cream. I look at it like nitroglycern. We gotta be very careful with it or it might explode! Not in our faces but all over our bodies! I'm almost sorry I've introduced you to this stuff. I just can't believe you can lose weight and eat things like this. Oh well, I'm not questioning it but I do want us to keep an eye on each other. I know I can go overboard in the sweets department.

I saw the other day when I was in the grocery store that they have carb option sweets by Entennman's. They specifically say on the box they are for the maintenance phase only but they have chocolate brownies, crumb cake, chewy chocolate chip cookies and blueberry muffins. I won't be eating any of these things until I get to goal but it's so nice to know these items are there for us when we want them at the maintenance level.

Take care sweetie and have a great cheat free day!

I just couldn't wait until tonight!!!:hyper: Today is my weigh-in day and guess what?!?!I LOST 3 POUNDS!!! :happy2: :thewave: :cool1: That's a total of 11 pounds in the three weeks on SB!!!:teeth: I could not believe it!!! I know that I am holding extra water weight because of TOM! I just wanted to share in my excitement, even if it's just typing this to make myself believe that I am really losing weight!

Have a wonderful day!

Carol:wave2:

Lisa..We must have been posting at the same time!:teeth: I have to tell myself that I can control myself when it comes to anything that I eat. Right now, I don't see how I won't be able to stay op. Of course, like in the past, the struggle will come! I am still doing Phase 1, for the most part. The one thing that I am worried about is that in about 3 weeks we go on vacation for 2 weeks. We are going on a Disney Cruise and then to WDW. There are certain foods that I know I WILL eat and I am planning to eat. Is that bad? Other than that, I am planning on staying op. I ususally do not gain weight on vacation because I get so much exercise. Last August, I went on a cruise with my Mom, Aunt, Sister. I actually lost 2 pounds. I guess this is something I have to think about.

Beth...thanks for the encouragement. I think having that ice cream around tests my will power. I just hope I don't fell the test! I am just glad my weigh- in went well. I was really worried because of TOM! Have a great day!

You are doing a great job, and controlling yourself around that ice cream. WTG!
Have a great one,
Beth

A clippie party for Carol!!!! FUN!!

:cheer2: :Pinkbounc 11 POUNDS GONE!!!! WOO HOO!!! :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

Congratulations on that beautiful 10 pound clippie you're wearing - it sure looks good on you!! Eleven pounds - WOW!! I bet you're feeling light on your feet!

Carol, you expressed concern earlier in your journal about whether you could get back on plan after a slip up and I wanted to mention something. I've found that the key for me is to not AVOID my journal when I've slipped up. It's so tempting to want to hide out and not post that day, but then I don't post the next day and the next day. I try to come here right away, post the good, the bad and the ugly and move on!! It makes getting back on track so much easier! ::yes::

You'll do fine on your vacation! Someone posted somewhere that in the South Beach book it talks about eating just 3 bites of food that isn't on plan. I think that's a great idea! You get the yummy taste but you don't eat the whole thing! Maybe that's an idea you can try on vacation.

Hope you have a great day! :sunny:

Hi Carole!

I came to join in your clippie party! Woohoo!!!:jumping1: :happy2: :happy2: :happy2:

Congratulations to you for losing those 11 pounds! You must feel awesome!!!! I am so proud of you. Keep up the fantastic work!

I'm jealous of you that you are going on the Disney cruise. I can't get DH to go. Plus it would cost too many of our precious DVC points. Oh well, maybe one day. Sigh. I hope you have a wonderful time.

I know there are two camps on going off program on vacation. One that believes cheating is not an option and the other that you only vacation once in a while and you should be able to eat whatever you want on vacation. I like Doe's suggestion from the book. Dr. A does talk about taking 3 bites of dessert and then sending it away. At one point DH and I had a Disney cruise booked and we had decided we weren't going to cheat. I'll be at Disney in less than 6 weeks (I'm so excited) and I've decided to stay on plan no matter what and just eat like I would if I were at home. I like what one person said on another board about cheating - it was something like - a cheat isn't about eating cookies and french fries, it's when you make a commitment to yourself to get health and you back on that promise."

Only you can decide if going off program on vacation is a cheat. I have a feeling you will make the best decision for you in your personal situation. No judgements here. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time no matter what you decide to do and we'll all be here eagerly awaiting a report of your good time! Again, I'm so proud of you sweetie!! Keep up the fantastic work!!!! :)
