Carolina Beach, NC ~condos/ boardwalk

To all you wonderful dissers in the know ~ please help.

MIL is trying to gather her entire family for a last minute beach getaway! (she's getting very nostalgic due to family issues....)

She's insisting on Carolina Beach and enlisted my help since I'm the 'planner' ??

Anyone familiar with the Boardwalk of Carolina Beach? Can anyone tell me the names of condo (or motels) nearby as we'd like to be within walking distance of the boardwalk. Where exactly IS the boardwalk, anyone know?

Anyone hear of
"Cabana Suites" condos,
"Pelican Watch" condos,
"Bora Bora" condos
"Atlantic Towers" condos?

Are they ok, and are they anywhere near the boardwalk?
Any information or advice would be very much appreciated.

Also, is anyone familiar with Kure Beach? Supposedly (?) very close to Carolina Beach?

Please oh please give me any feedback you might have about any of the above!

I've been to Kure Beach before, but I was about 13. I do remember that Carolina Beach and Kure Beach were close. As for the Boardwalk, I really don't know where that is. The first thing that came to mind was the Boardwalk in Wilmington. Wilmington was a short drive from Kure and Carolina Beach with lots of things to do.

I dont remember a boardwalk at Carolina Beach, either. It has always been more residential homes/condos than hotels. Carolina and Kure are very close together--hard to tell when one starts and the other stops.

I love that beach. We went there when I was in college all the time. But only stayed at friends beach houses. Sorry I can't remember the condos....but love the beach....very laid back.
