Its EPCOT day so we’re up and at ‘em at the crack of dawn – only kidding, we were just about ready for 9:00 am.
Plan of attack is get on Soarin’ before the parks go mad next week then attack the world showcase, we’ll fit Future world in tomorrow!
We’re in the parks and Reggies in a chair within a few minutes of arrival so we rush up to The Land Pavilion, Soarin’ is a walk on so we do it twice in twenty minutes, It is as spectacular as everyone says - definitely worth the hype. We then decide to have a quick turn on ‘living with the land’ whilst we’re in this pavilion. Unfortunately the whole experience was marred by our Cast Member who spoke in a sing song nasal voice with the microphone constantly stuck on her lip – not one person in our boat could understand how she got a job in narration when her diction was so bad her fellow countrymen couldn’t understand her (Imagine sooty and sweep on helium) She was the ONLY bad CM we came across through our entire stay and she just became the brunt of all our jokes after.
Okay, so World Showcase here we come,
Mexico, - tried on sombreros to take photos, watched the Mariachis, rode the twee little ride (very cute and a first for me) drank strawberry margaritas – YUM!
Norway, - tried on viking hats took photos, rode the ride (Ruth, Cal and Dan did it again straight after)
China, - Had noodles, watched the film (another first and it was wonderful) saw the amazingly talented dragon acrobats – who needs La Cirque du Soleil when you can see these children for nothing? Saw Mulan, Callum bought the juggling stick things which then became everyones favourite toy. Oh, and I single handedly sustained Chinas economy with the amount I spent in the shop.
Germany, a bit of a let down, saw the cuckoo clocks and admired the model railway but that’s pretty much it I guess.
Italy, Ice cream, lots of photos, nice choccie, a long break in which Reg entertained the crowds with his juggling sticks act.
United States, watched the wonderful voices of liberty from the rotunda and The American Adventure, a truly inspiring and patriotic show,
Japan, the tin toy exhibit and the lovely gardens. The great drumming show.
Morocco and its now dark and distinctly chilly, the belly dancer does her stuff to Reg’s delight and we wander through the bazaar, Callum tries on the Fez for the obligatory photo
France and we’re very cold by now so we skip through quickly and rush down to the UK, everyones shouting their hungry so after a quick whizz round the shops where we bumped into Pooh and Tigger and Call and I had severeal minutes alone with them before the crowds came, and a short peek at ‘The British Invasion’ we gather the troops in the disabled viewing spot and race back to Harry Ramsdens for Fish and Chips. This all came about around an hour earlier than I’d planned so we then had a 2 hour wait for illuminations, never mind, Ruth and I wandered back to France and stocked up on cakes and wine, the wine was a lovely merlot, very warming.
Everyones really cold by now so I run over to Canada and buy a Roots sweatshirt for Callum which he refuses to wear as he says he’s too hot so I managed to squeeze into it (it was funny, up round my ****s and too short in the arms)
We had a lovely spot for illuminations so after the show we bought up Mouse Gear and headed back
Dreaming tonight of strawberry Margarita by a big fire
