Thinking of taking a cruise that leaves from my home state (Balt, MD) the convenience factor of this with two DD's 4 and 2 is very appealing. Anyone got any fare codes or anything. Triple A great rate is the same as Carnivals.
Thanks!

We are also thinking about cruising out of baltimore.. I am from chesapeake city md but now live in dover de.

We have never been on a cruise and i get sick just standing on a dock!!

I figure it might be best to start off w/ a cheaper cruise then to jump into a disney cruise!!!

Carnival gives out the same rates to anyone so there are no real coupon codes. Sometimes you will find a TA who has blocked a section of rooms off and they have done so at a time/date that the price may be cheaper than it is at the current date. In this case you may get a cheaper rate and also get some perks.

I would call Carnival and see what their pricing is for the date and ship you would like to sail. I use their online site all the time to book my reservations. However, if you call you may get a room that is not listed online.

Carnival offers early saver rates. It is a rate that you book early and if the price goes down you can fill out an online form and request the price drop. However, the rules on this type of reservation are very strict. If you have to cancel the reservation you loose $50 pp on the room and also you do not get a refund for the remaining amount. Instead you get that credit towards a cruise that must be taken in a specific time period. There are more rules dealing with cats and the such.

Let me say by anyone I mean a TA or other agency is "suppose" to have the same rates as the cruiseline.

Also have seen one time that another online TA had a Cat upgrade for the same price as Carnival had and I went with the TA because Carnival would not give me the cat upgrade. They said that sale had ended and that agency should not be adveritising the price. We did get the cat upgrade with that agency.

I am not a TA, we just cruise a lot.

I'm the same way but I find being on the ship really doesn't bother me, unless the seas are very rough and then I take Bonine and I'm fine. One thing I found is that a cabin in the middle of the ship on the lowest deck is the best place if you suffer from seasickness. You feel more motion in the cabins on the upper decks or to the very forward and back of the ship.

Carnival does have promo codes that you can use and enter on their website. At least they did last time we cruised. There are some posters on Cruisecritic dot com who have a list of them. There are codes for past guest prices. I am sure of that one becaase we have used it in the past. The code for past guest is DP3. Unless there have been some changes in the last 6-8 months, that has always worked for us. On the last cruise we booked, we received a free 3 category upgrade just by putting in that code. We were up on the Spa deck and paid a discounted balcony price. Geez, I hope that hasn't changed.
