Has anyone ever done this? How well can you see the parade? Would this be worth doing if I'd like to glimpse the parade but don't want to spend the time it takes staking out a spot, etc? If so, what time should I make my PS, and would I need to request a certain type of seat? Thanks! -Meg

People will probably block your view standing to watch the parade. So I don't know if it would be worth it. :cool1:

Plus if I remember right Carniation usually ends service right about then as I believe they are breakfast and lunch only

Yes, they close right before the parade begins. But if you get there 'right' when they're closing, you have a table until you're done!

There will be many people standing and blocking the view of the lower half of the parade, but you can still see the higher spots of the floats.

I would not try this if you want to see the parade. The Carnation Cafe is a long rectangular patio that is between two buildings and most tables have an umbrella. Even if there weren't people standing up in front of the cafe it would be a bad spot to view the parade. With the sidewalk in front of the cafe packed with people you will essentially see umbrellas and butts!
