Question: Anyone watched a parade from outside tables @ Carnation Cafe?

I have a dinner reservation at 5 and wondering if a good or bad idea to request an outside table to view parade or move reservation.

We ate at Carnation Cafe a couple of weeks ago and could view characters and the DL Band marching down Main Street, but, the sidewalk wasn’t packed with guests.

I would change the reservation so you can view the parade curbside either before or after your CC meal.

Thank u!

Any particular viewing location? I guess I can move rides around and watch 330 parade then dinner. It may work better for the littles.

Been there during quite a few parades. It is absolutely fun and adds to the expereicen and atmosphere while dining...but it is awful viewing if you objective is to "see" the parade. While you can see some floats go by, the sidewalk is packed with people standing and watching,

For the 3:30 parade, choose the shady side of Main Street or somewhere shady in Town Square.

If seeing the parade is a priority then watch the 3:30 parade or plan your dinner before or after the parade. Carnation Cafe isn't a good location to see the parade. Like Parkhopper1, we've dined there many times when a parade was passing by and the view is very limited. Even the tables next to the sidewalk will be obstructed by all the people standing on the walkway to watch the parade. Typically all you'll be able to see will be the tops of the floats. Anything more will be pure luck.

We’re WDW vets and 1st timers to DL. Kids love the parades. I’ll def do some rearranging to current plans.

Any reviews on parade pkgs with dining?

See this thread (the last few pages) for reviews on the parade dining package: New ‘Magic Happens’ Parade to Premiere on Feb. 28, 2020 at Disneyland Park. If you are willing to put in some wait time, there are good spots available all along the route. It isn't totally necessary to do a dining package to have a good to great view. People posted that they waited an hour and got bench seats at the train station. Others waited about an hour and didn't even get curb seats in the dining package area. YMMV.
