I will be in DL this Tues, Wed, and Thurs. I had been putting off making my dining reservations for Carnation and Cafe Orleans until now because I wasn't sure what time I should make them for. Well, I was about to call today but it's raining here in Northern CA today so I thought I should check the weather for Anaheim. It shows showers and T-storms for Tuesday and Wednesday.

I know that Carnation Cafe has no inside seating so if it's raining, they will be closed. At Cafe Orleans I have only ever been seated outside before but I know they have limited inside seating. Since it's probably going to be slow on the days it is going to rain, should I just check that day to see if they are open first and make a reservation at the podium for later in the day? Or do you think I should still call right now and make the reservations?

and this is off topic but will there still be trick or treating at the Halloween party on Tuesday night if it's raining? I hope they don't cancel the fireworks either :scared1:

I was in the Park for several days when it rained recently; both Cafe' Orleans and Carnation Cafe' were closed. I had reservations at both, but had to make alternate meal arrangements. I'd say, go ahead and make reservations now, and if they just don't open the day of, you can eat somewhere else.

Also during my rainy trip: the Halloween Party went on as scheduled, even though it was POURING rain!

Edited to add: they also had the fireworks, but the rain had let up and was instead a light drizzle at showtime.

We walked up on Thursday & got an outside table at Cafe Orleans with just a 10/15 minute wait.

I have my fingers crossed for a less than wet MHP party on Tuesday too :)

We walked up to Carnation Cafe on Wednesday for lunch and had just a short wait for a table for 5

When we've gone in the rain both CC and CO have been closed. altho CO does have limited indoor seating I think they feel it's just best to close completely because they don't have enough space to seat everyone who had a reservation. i would suggest making your reservations but just know that it's possible that both places will be closed. As for the ToT party, if it's rainy the treat stations move inside so yes, there will still be ToTing. :) fireworks can be tricky, it really has more to do with the wind then the rain, altho if it's pouring there will be no fireworks.
