As has been discussed, the 405 freeway from the 10 to the 101 is going to be shutdown from Friday night, July 15th, through Monday morning, July 18th.
It was just on the news that MTA is hosting a live internet chat to provide information and allow a chance to ask questions regarding the closure.
Side note: They are also producing PSAs with Eric Estrada in them to get the word out and I just love that they are using "Ponch" for this!

I usually like taking the 405 as I trust it more (is that strange?? 
) and I'm more used to it. I guess maybe I'll avoid it when leaving!!
