I know someone mentioned a golf cart rental place called Carl's Carts, but did anyone actually check it out? (prices, details) Has anyone actually used them or made a reservation with them? Thanks.

I called them, they were nice, but were out of carts (all the snowbirds still had em) but he gave me prices etc, and with the hassle of getting it delivered and picked up, the S M A L L difference in price just wasn't worth it for me for 14 days. Others may have more hands on experience.

I will need a cart for over 3 weeks. I have rented from Steve Senesi in the past, but with the price of gas..I'm looking for ways to cut all other expenses.

John, don't you know someone who was thinking about getting into the cart rental business?

Yeah dangit, he hurt his back, and then moved out of orlando! :confused3

I wish I could figure out a way to leave my cart in Orlando and rent it out.

:confused3 I not sure what you mean? Steve rents electric carts.

I meant with the price of gas being so high that I'm trying to cut costs anywhere else I can on this trip. I suppose I could do without a cart. :scared1: Gasp! Choke! (I wasn't referring to a gas-powered cart, but I can see why you thought that...)

Gotcha Barb ;) So what did you think about your dealings with Steve?

PS.......Dont get me started on the fuel prices

I rented from Steve before, and he's top notch. I'd give him a :thumbsup2

Golf Cart Enterprises is $200/week. We rented from them a long time ago, and were happy! I'm not sure about their delivery policies, etc. now though.

I rented from Golf Cart Enterprises before I rented from Steve. They don't deliver any more, but you can rent their trailer for an additional $50 and pick up and return yourself. I switched to Steve because he delivered to site. No problems with him at all. It was great. I haven't checked on his rates this year, but I'm guessing they went up like everything else. So I was just pinching pennies and checking out all my options...

Rog, I'd rent from you, but do you think people would recognize your cart and think I was you?

Good point Barb...people might throw eggs at you on every loop!!!:goodvibes

hey, I'm still thinking that we should just BUY a cart, leave it at the fort, and pass off the keys to each other when we arrive....lol..... there's enough DISers to keep it rolling, I'm sure!

That certainly is something to think about...I wonder if it could work? Or even if one of these rentals had a better price for a long term rental...and then it would be shared among the various Dis members.

Okay we are taking our cart. If we wanted to go to another area in Florida for a few days that doesn't allow carts do you know if Disney will let you keep the cart there while your away for a few days as long as your coming back to stay at disney again?

I wouldnt risk it...Disney wont take any responsibility for it, an if it gets stolen...its just gone. Now if your Keeping the site I might would chain the cart to the picnic table...but if youre actually checking out, I wouldnt think of leaving my cart there.

If it were in a locked enclosed trailer would you think that they have security in that front lot? I would hate to tow it if we didn't have to it would be less on gas ya know, (I knowthe cart is woth more than a couple tanks of gas, but I was hoping it would be ok,) am I too trusting???

You would need to get a special parking tag from the front desk to leave your trailer in the parking lot. A lot of people do this, but Disney will not be responisble if something happens. I have seen people chain their trailers to light posts in the lot. If you are checking out of FtW for those days, they will most likely not give you a parking tag....even if you're coming back.

Just something to consider.

Thanks Debbie and Barb for your input ref. Steve's service. I really appreciate it! :thumbsup2

As of a couple of week ago Steve told me his prices were still the same.
