Carlos and Charlies

We'd like to go there while in Cozumel in the evening. Where is it and how do you get there? I didn't see it on the thread for Taxi Fares.

Also, will our DD (17) and her friend (17) be able to go in with us? It's really the two of them that want to go there, but I don't want to get there and find out they can't get it.

Carlos and Charlies is right off the pier, just follow the foot traffic and it should be across the street, as for your kids, I'm not totally sure. There is a gift shop there, That is the place I bought my tropical shirt for Dinner.

You didn't see it on the taxi fares, cuz' you don't need a taxi!

Carlos and Charlies is within walking distance from the ship. You can't miss it... It's a 10 minute walk from the pier, and it's right in the thick of things as you enter the shopping district.

Yes, we were just there and we saw kids who were obviously under 17! There was nobody at the door carding. You'll have a lot of fun! But be careful - those little shots add up really fast in your body! LOL! We saw a lot of people stumbling back to the ship!

My three teens, 15, 17, 18 at the time all were allowed in Carlos and Charlies. It is both a restaurant and bar, but can get very rowdy after 5:00 pm.

Really not a place for younger teens after that time.

I was there with hubby and 2 other couples in February. We got there about 5 and ordered appetizers and the "yard" of drink...Hubby and I got the Mai Tai and others got the Margarita. I stopped at one and was really VERY buzzed. Things got weird after that and how we got back to our ship on time I will never know...I will tell you, be prepared if you order a shot! We also got our photo taken with the Monkey and it is up on the website for Carlos and Charlies. All in all it was a VERY VERY fun and wild place. The staff was nice and the food was good. I can't wait to go back next February with my girlfriends. I did seee one thing that puzzled me...a boy, about 11 ordered a shot and they gave it to him out of the same bottle that the adults got shots out of..now do they serve alcohol to minors? His parents were there and approved. I am hoping it was non alcoholic, but it WAS from the same bottle of pink stuff they called "sex on the beach"

I had my MIL there Dec 01 when we cruised on NCL. The girls had their "girls" falling out of their shirts and this was at 3pm! Could it have been Senor Frogs? I believe it was Carlos n Charlies old location (farther away from the docks) and we went upstairs.

I too was surprised at the "loose behavior" in the bar... so be cautious of taking kids under 18 there.

For example, when the bartenders poured shots into the ladie's mouths, they stirred them up by cupping both of her breasts in their hands and shaking them side to side vigorously! And yes, the female bartenders were not too worried whether their breasts were inside or outside of their shirts... (but I decided not to complain!)

And if you're a "lightweight" when it comes to alcohol, be very careful. I saw plenty of unweary cruisers (some of them even cruise staff members!) either being literally carried back to the ship, or at least chumming into the ocean. Ah, aren't vacations relaxing??
