Carl Anderson passed

Carl Anderson died on Monday, after battling leukemia. He was Judas in the original Broadway production, and original film version of Jesus Christ Superstar.

How sad. He was incredibly talented.

DH and I SAW Carl Anderson (Judas) and Ted Neeley (Jesus) a few years ago in the touring revival of "Jesus Christ Superstar".


We always thought that the part of Judas was much stronger than that of Jesus, and that Anderson had an incredible voice. Such power, range, emotion.

Sad, especially with the juxaposition of all the hoopla surrounding "The Passion of the Christ" . . .

DH and I just saw him a little over a year ago in the touring revival, too. He was awesome! He'll be missed.

Very sad. I love the original soundtrack CD and play it at least during holy week each year.
