So I've been horrible about keeping up with this journal. And I can't make any promises that I'll do better. But I thought I at least needed to update the thing!
After a brief slow down after my trip in Feb/March, I got back on track. I lost about 11 lbs from Jan-April. Then my dh and I started the South Beach Diet. This was about 2 1/2 weeks ago and I've lost another 9 lbs for a total of 20 lbs lost since the new year began! I've continued with my walking which I'm very proud of. Everything is going very well and I'm feeling so much better. I'm back to the weight I was when I got married. I still have at least another 20 lbs that I'd like to lose to get to my lowest weight as an adult.
Here's a sample of what I had to eat yesterday:
breakfast: scrammbled eggs, half of a wheat english muffin with a bit of peanut butter and a handful of grapes
snack: nuts
lunch: salad with tunafish
snack: apple and wedge of cheese
supper: chicken stir fry with lots of veggies
dessert: i had my first glass of wine last night (it's allowed in phase 2) and I melted some very dark chocolate (85% cocoa!) then mixed in some nuts and spread out on a cookie sheet and put in the fridge. Then I broke a piece off. Again...my first chocolate since I started SBD (dark chocolate is allowed...in moderation of course!). I won't be doing this every night, but it was nice for a change.
We move back to the states in 3 weeks. I'm so excited! Hopefully I'll be able to stick to correct eating during our trip back although that'll be difficult on the airplane. I'll be sure to bring lots of allowable snacks and just do my best. We're staying one night in Sydney and 4 nights in Hawaii. It's pretty easy to eat well at most restaurants though...just order some grilled meat and salad!
